Start/stop malfunction

BMW X3 2013: My car start/stop functions occasionally malfunction; the car would not start and automatically switch to park. This happens occasionally while waiting for the green light. The battery is new; there is no aux battery in the car. Any idea what the problem would be?

Did you have the new battery registered when it was replaced?
