What would you trade your M5 for?
While I love my M5, I also know that around mid 2020 I'll consider changing car and what you like to start a open discussion about what to get next.
Requirements for me are: 1) min 2+2 or saloon 2) Love convertibles 3)Love loud car 4) Must be fun to drive Comments? Suggestions? |

New rs6
But good luck getting one next year. Allocations are tight with numerous people at both dealers near me. Plus with the anticipation I assume pricing will be well over MSRP to start. |

But since they are not electric they aren't going to meet your requirements. If it's going to be a standard ICE car, I would look at the upcoming Lexus LC 500 convertible (looks amazing). Perhaps a MB AMG 63 S Coupe, but I think they are discontinuing the coupe for next year. I am also waiting to check out a 992 911 Turbo S. It's all so subjective. Do you want more sport or luxury (there are always compromises)? For example, I really like a lot of the Mercedes designs but the sportier ones are too harsh for my taste as a DD. The only current car BMW makes that I like, is the one I own (M5C). Personally I am not a huge Audi fan (wife has a Q7), but they are nice cars. I think you'd be better served listing your priorities (i.e. cushy GT, hard edged rocket, etc.). .02 |

Thanks everyone for al your input really appreciate.
I should have mention that I'm based in Asia (Hong Kong) to be more precise and therefore some models are not available here or really hard to get. I personally would like something more sporty but I have to be able to fit 2 adults with 2 kids (11 and 8 ) from time to time. The road network here is very different from the US and most of my trips are 5-10 KM at best 20... Therefore comfort is not really a top priority. My recent rides have been: aM3 conv E46 then a Audi S6 followed by M5 E60 then a C63 AMG (6.3l) and currently have the M5 F90. I would love to try something new as brand and Porshe is something I'm really tempted but I feel that a 4S won't do it in terms of fun? Turbo's are really rare here and to my view overpriced.... I'm considering the new RS6 but want to see it first. I also love the M8 convertible but apparently it won't be available here. Any further comments here? How about a E63S? |

I had a 2018 M5 F90 for 18 months. Bought a 2019 Turbo S. Had both for 4 months. Later sold the M5.
I still think the M5 is an overachiever and the best four door saloon on the planet. Even after driving a Panamera at Barber. M5 rules. If you do not need a large back seat for adults or a large trunk for trips , the Turbo S is the next level. Truly depends on what you need. I’d buy an M5 again tomorrow if I needed the space. |

It comfortably seats 4 adults, loud as hell (adjustable) and fun to drive! Also a timeless beauty by Pinanfarina. I'd say it would check all your boxes.

I looked at everything including test drives.....only next step up would be the Lamborghini Urus after it depreciates more (Maserati is too slow and not on the same league)

Agreed, no way close on power (not much is), but it all depends on if the OP wants another rocket or a GT cruiser. Masi fits the GT cruiser pretty well, but again, all depends....
