Check engine light but no notifications?
So I was driving this morning, and the CEL came on. However, there wasn't any associated code or message on the display. I checked the vehicle information menu and everything says all is well. There aren't any messages in the notifications menu either. Anyone else ever had this happen?

Just replied to your email.
You'll need OBD2 reader to pull out the exact error that is causing the CEL. Most of the time is a gas cap not tighten properly.

This is one of my pet peeve with "Modern" vehicles. It's just bullshit that the computer system cannot give you all the codes without having to buy a scanner. I bought one and it is very helpful to have around, they nickel and dime you with the various car brand software purchases, but it's a nice tool to have. That being said most autoparts stores have scanners you can borrow to scan the car.

I've read a few other posts where this issue went away after a few hours to a day. In my Murican days (CTSVs, Vettes, etc.) this was usually indicative of a bad O2 sensor. I want to avoid the dealership if possible as its such a PITA.

Went up to Autozone and picked up a scanner. P0461 is the code that I am getting which appears to be something with the fuel level sensor. https://www.yourmechanic.com/article...n%20the%20tank. I'm going to clear out the code to see if it resolves. If not, then its off to the dealership I go.

I get it all the time, and it usually clears out after a few days.
It started happening after tracking the car and the code was bad bank 2 fuel vent valve. |
