I have contacted bimmercode and they didn't have an answer.
Hoping crowd think can help.

I have a 2021 M5C

I can't stand that the inner "tube" goes dark when you initiate the turn signal, and only the outer tube blinks orange.

It looks like on EU or non-US spec cars the inner tube remains illuminated and the outer tube blinks orange with turn signals.

Anyone know or willing to figure out how to do this in our lights?

I’m talking about front DRLs on LCI, not taillights.

This only occurs when the hazards are on, which is what the video is showing.

In the US at least, the inner LED turns off when your turn signal activates. Don't know if it works differently for vehicles in other countries.

I checked my lights by turning on the headlights and the turn signal, the inner DTR light stayed on while the outer turned amber and blinked. This was performed while car was parked in garage.

Yes that is true, when the headlights are on, the inner stays lit while the outer blinks amber.

But when the DRL's are running, and you indicate a turn, the outer blinks amber but the inner turns off.

This is true that the Euro spec M5 only blinks the outer light and keeps the inner L tube illuminated for safety euro reasons.

Unfortunately because our LCIs are so new, a lot of the ECUs have not been coded yet.

Another thing to note, did you know that in Europe, the rear taillight has an amber blinker separate from the brake light, and in the US, the blinker is red and also part of the brake light, so the entire taillight flashes?

Almaretto has coded it for me twice.
Once, flawlessly, then a second time after I installed the recent update and it wiped it all out. Bastards. lol.

We are currently working on coding the LCI taillights for the lower euro turn signal only. Worked on it last weekend and got the outer piece of the taillight to blink, but not the inner. Hope to get that figured out soon.

Yes, Almaretto did it.

Literally 5 minutes once he was logged on to the computer.

Looks soooo much better.

I saw a blacked out LCI yesterday and thought, "Your turn signals look ridiculous." lol.

I dropped the car for PPF as soon as i got it so i cant play with it in driveway and see all of this for myself. sorry for alll the questions. And last question, what is it youre trying to code on the rear lights?

Behavior with lights on is same as US factory.
Both DRLs remain lit when turn signal is activated.

Looking to code the OE US LCI taillights to work like Euro spec LCI.
Only the lower strip blinks when turn signal is activated. Not the whole assembly. We got to the point of just the lower strip blinking, but just the outer pieces, not the inner pieces on the trunk lid.
The only difference between the US and Euro spec LCI would be that the US spec will be red turn signal, not Euro amber. I'd prefer amber, but not enough to buy euro LCI tails. Just don't like that the entire assembly flashes on US spec LCI.
