Hey guys… on the CCB, anybody know what that circle is about?

Basically when the rotor is worn down to the point you can't see it anymore, you need a new one. Theoretically, it should take a pretty long time.

Quite the opposite, actually.

CCB's don't wear down like a typical steel rotor.

Wear on CCB rotors is due to the oxydation of the carbon fibres inside the matrix when exposed to very high temperatures (such as race track use). The wear indicators capture this oxydation wear. Once they are half exposed, it is indeed a good idea to have the rotors weighed; there is a good chance they will be under min. It is also important to note that BMW recommend replacing the rotors if either the wear indicators are half exposed OR when the rotors are under-weight.

Learn something every day... Only reason I didn't get them is the fact that each rotor is around $8000 or something crazy... so when the dot eventually says they need to be replaced - better get your wallet out.

Can be gotten for $4400 for the F90 (or roundabout - more lately).
