Good deal?

127K sticker car, my dealer is trading for it to get it here. I'll get the actual lease worksheet shortly, but $1900 / month 36 months 7500 miles, 2800 at signing, all taxes included. 58% residual, don't know what the cap cost or MF is. Hard to validate without those but looking for a gut check. If I run the BMW calculator with taxes at MSRP i'm getting 2100 / month so feels reasonable esp since it's not *their* lot car, but still...

I think I have an M3 problem.

Trying to answer your question is tough without cap cost and MF, as you’ve stated. That’s a little on the higher side at first glance without that information, however. I haven’t checked May lease programs, but residual is in the normal range based on mileage; you only ever really see that fluctuate by a point or two. Comparing the number to the BMW calculator is not the best way to gauge your deal. Those numbers are almost always higher than the actual deal you can get, and rarely, if ever, take into account any discounts or loyalty cash, etc. that you may be entitled to. At 10k/12k miles, that may have made a little more sense. At least it seems like you’re only putting T&F down.

All in all, it’s not a terrible deal by any means if it’s exactly the car you want, you can get the car now, and taking into consideration that EOP is 07/24. If your primary goal is to get the best deal possible, depending on where you are in the country, this probably isn’t it. If you just want it now, then it’s not a terrible deal.

fair enough. i don't have the time / energy to get the best deal in the country and this is a dealer i've bought 4 cars from now so the relationship has some value. i just want to know that i'm not being fleeced. sounds like that's the case...ish. let's see what the numbers look like i guess.

I wouldn’t go far as to say getting fleeced-ish. There’s just some room to do better if that’s what you wanted. Otherwise, it seems like it’s the right car, right now, and of course there’s value in that, too.

Keep us posted and good luck!

yeah, my wording was confusing. i meant that it doesn't sound like i'm getting fleeced. now they just need to actually get the car here!

Sorry, I may have misinterpreted a bit as well! We’re on the same page now.

I'd be surprised if that wasn't a good deal considering what the base money factor is right now

What is the base MF through BMWFS for May?

I have no clue but it's high lol. My comment was more in line with where interest rates are compared to a year ago for leasing and purchasing since they are all based off Fed funds rate. The base MF has got to be pretty high by now so I was guessing those lease terms were probably favorable.

Yes, hard to know without a net cap cost and MF for us to utilize in the math but I'm thinking that payment at that MSRP is pretty good for a lease right now in today's credit rate world.

I don’t think it’s a great deal but then again I haven’t been tracking money factor lately.

For reference. My car was 27k more than that and for a 36/10 I’m only 400 a month higher.

The money factor is lower now than it was a few months ago. For May it's 0.00175. 4.2% now, better to lease than buy.

You car at MSRP assuming you have the $995 bank fee in the deal would be $1833 per month plus tax. You should be able to get at least 5% off msrp for a car sitting on the lot right now, but on a trade maybe not.

“For May it’s 0.00175.”

That’s certainly not great, but definitely not as bad as it had been as you mentioned.

OP, make sure they are showing you the buyer rate and they are not marking it up obviously.

got the numbers. MF is 175 as mentioned above. He's giving me ~3% off msrp and another ~1% (maybe less) is going to shipping. So from his perspective it's 4% that he isn't getting. I think I'm ok with that.

Again, not great, but not terrible. At least they’re not marking up the MF. And as I mentioned, you’ll get the car ASAP, so there’s obviously some value in that.

Keep us posted. We can’t wait to see!

squeezed another $500 out of him to a total discount of $4.5K off 129K sticker. definitely better deals out there, but then again ... it's now waiting for me at the dealer when I get home this weekend!!

SRG / Full Aragon Brown, DAPP, Exec, Comp, BW. Yes, has a sunroof but ... meh. My E60 had one and it was fine. I'd even open it on occasion!

Good job on that last bit of squeezing there and glad they budged a bit. I can feel your excitement leading into the weekend already

Are they still giving you 0.00175 MF for the lease? I was quoted a june rate of 0.00230 which makes a significant difference...
