MY review of 330D M Sport
Differs from the AUTOCAR review.
I had the M Sport 330D touring out for the day, std steering/suspension 18" wheels, but pro nav and paddle shift. I drove 100 miles mixed town "A" roads and duel carriageway car returned 53MPG, It responded well in acceleration being real quick with only 900 miles on the clock overtaking was a quick change down in comfort mode and you were gone, I did not even bother with sport mode at all, it did not need it IMO. It was quiet always and as for "Turbo wine" never heard a thing, the car just flew along queitly, seats "electric sport NO lumber" were comfortable and supportive, the car cornered a bit soft without the adjustable suspension but was ok and the steering was for me anyway not tight enough but tolerable, again with variable sport steering would be great. Overal the car was exceptional and every day driving and economy was outstanding.I can not wait for my fully specced car to arrive next month.

With 'regular' driving which is 30% town, 30% dual-carriageway and 40% single lane A/B roads I'm getting around 39mpg now. It started off nearer 37mpg but it's creeping up - got 4k on the clock now so guess it may still improve a wee bit. Probably in Comfort mode about 70% of the time, Sport/Sport+ 20% and Eco-yawn about 10%. ASS is on most of the time as I keep forgetting to switch it off.
Did a long run from Brighton to Richmond (North Yorks) about 300m up the M23/M25/M11/A1 pretty much 70mph the whole way and got a fraction over 50mpg. Was well chuffed with that.

reading all you guys with your F30 MPG and reviews is making me twitchy, the E90 has to go. The question is when........
Was specing a 330d up last night but the price soon shoots, Lease is no good for me as I need the flexibilty to change, to put what MPG on I like 20k a year. And I will keep the next work car for 5 years. The cars sound great, a test drive may be due.

If I get get 50+ by my math, I can get a £5+ daily saving in fuel / £60 month or a massive saving of over £700 a year (based on a three day working week). Somehow I think I'm going to get in the region of about 45. Which calculates at around £40 a month / £470 a year saving in fuel costs. Still not to be sniffed at.

On that thinking I need to do some calculations as om my present project I do 1400 a month at 28MPG so a 330D will cut my fuel in half?

This doesn't make it any easier for me, I am so worried that I will regret not having another manual gearbox. A 328i manual would probably be just the ticket. |

At 50MPG, you'll be spending under £200. £150 a month saving.

Can I just say these BMW engines are excellent, the 2.2 SD in the Evoque is very poor in comparison. circa 36MPG on a mway run after 6k on the clock.

I am quite impressed with your Evoque MPG to be honest, 36 is not bad for a 4x4. |

Always seemed to be a little "slow" to react (I guess trust comes with time), and always seemed to leave a gap large enough for 87 BMW 330d's to fit it. Maybe BMW's implementation is different, but from the experience I had in the Volvo, I learned not to specify a car with it. If it comes as std (like the Volvo) fine .. but I don't think I could pay for it.

Yeah likewise - I had it on my build then tried it in my old man's 5GT. Scared the shit out of me! I'm not a good passenger at the best of times because I always feel I see things before the driver and everyone else seems slow to react. But you can get over that and trust someone since you know them and they have self-preservation at the forefront of their mind. When a computer doesn't react when you would ... fuck that.
I took it off my build and added the advanced parking pack instead. I can handle a computer parking - that looks like fun
