But, as you said, that track favors power. 16 hp, is unnoticeable on a 2 ton car....shit, that's within the margin of error for dynos. It's pure marketing.. (I've had several comp & non-comp cars in the past). That being said, my M5, is the first time I've actually preferred the standard vs Comp. Maybe just because I'm getting older.. and wanted something softer this time. The only standout was my M4 Comp vs my M4 non-comp. the Comp rode much better. Cannot wait till we see true heard to heads with the comp-non-comp... same day, same track, same driver. Good times we live in. |

It was a great watch. I love Clarkson's take on things, even if I don't always agree with him. I love his willingness to just call it like he sees it. It's tough to say if I'd also take the Alpina over the M5, but I guess if I were in the position to get an M5, I could probably go Alpina and have another purpose-built car.

[QUOTE=paliknight;24428779]So the M5C would have easily beat the GT3RS. Interesting[/QUOTE
Just for perspective The M4 GTS (the best production BMW ‘Ring time) ran a 7:27 around the ‘Ring. The fastest 4 door car ran a 7:25. The GT3RS 6:56. No, 16 horsepower will not buy you half a minute on the Ring. I doubt 200 horsepower would. The M5 is a brute for sure, but we don’t know the circumstances in which the RS time was set vs the M5. |

Thanks for posting! My 11yr old son and I watched it all. Can't beat these guys, best auto journal show period. Always loved the Alpinas, but they really dropped the ball on the front fascia. Looks anemic compared to the M...
