What are you looking for? An apples to apples map comparo or a hyper aggressive piggy adjustment? I think the JB4 can deliver a better paper sale with its aggressive mapping but at what cost down the road? I could have easily chosen the JB4 for 1100 bucks vs the cheaper but with less power RC... I only run 91 octane on my cars. But whats safer?

I think onfireX5 can you give you the best comparisons since he has both and can tell you the weaknesses of both in regards to power and boost spiking or lack of it.

Got mine installed today
Much easier to install then I taught.
Drove it for about 20min, and so far I like it. Got mine with app which makes it so convenient to change the mod without opening the hood. Specially when is super cold here in Wi.
Will try to find time to drive tomorrow and write more details.

Thanks to VIC55 and onfireX5 for input and helping me, those guys have done many tunes before

Also, Thanks to Ban ( from RG Sport ) for quick response and helping answering all the question.

After the ECM adapts after a couple of days you will really be impressed.

Look at the prior dyno graphs in the first post by Ben and that will give you a great data point for the RC potential. I used the JB4 for 2 months on Map 1 without the EWG. I’ve used RC on my F90 for a week and on my F85 for 2.5 years. Both units have stock like power delivery. The RC is for the “set it and forget it” guys with very solid Stage 1 , safe, performance gains. JB4 is more for the guy that wants more than Stage 1 performance gains and is willing to log, add octane through race gas, boosters, meth injection, etc to get even more power. Both are great at what they do.

I still didn't get a chance to install it!! It's been raining like crazy and I wanted to run a few draggy runs and then install to compare some times!

But I agree 100% with the comment above. Great feedback from both guys and Ben was great from RG when I was picking his brain before ordering lol

I'll see how this goes before Dinan comes out with something or some of these other tunes become more reliable. Too many hit and misses with what's out there so far.

I had opportunity to drive today for couple hours 60% was highway driving.
I must say it's pulling so much harder, most of the time I had it in efficient mode and sport very little in race mode.
I am glad I picked the app can change it as I drive
Drive in efficient most until I feel to let her rip or someone wants to race. Lol
Had a Porsche 911 turbo but the old guy didn't budge at all.
Wanted to do just a little pull and see how it compares ( don't like to race on main roads or hwy) but was not lucky. Lol

It sounds like RaceChip is a viable option I just have a hard time understanding why someone would choose that over JB4 except to save money. From the looks of it you can run the JB4 in basic mode with out the extra connections and have the same thing, or attach extra connections and make a lot more power, have a lot more tuning control, read/delete codes (important for warranty), do real logs to see how safe tuning is. How much cheaper is the RaceChip?

Seems like they are enjoying their F90 M5 with RaceChip on it.

There is not exact answer to your question.
What you are asking is similar to asking why purchase Samsung over Apple phones?
Or PC over Mac?

Is there any mention of air to fuel ratio during the testing phase of racechip to make sure that the car is not running too lean which can lead to engine failure.
From online info new m5 already runs lean and piggybacks can make it worse. True dme tune can alter fuel tables to rectify the problem.

My logs of RC shows lambda around 0.85 at wot. Safe for DI.

just received my race chip and installed it right away. installation was straight forward with no issues. initial feedback is that the car does feel quicker. not sure if is was the 48 degree cool air or the chip, probably alittle bit of both. car seems to fight for traction now whereas before traction was never an issue. only put about 20 miles on it so far but will update as i put more miles on it. Thanks to Ben for answering all my questions and prompt shipment as promised!

Will we probably see an OBDII-only tune? No TMAP sensors? Like isn't bootmod3 just plug into OBDII and flash? I could be very wrong.
