2019 F90 M5 Competition 10.9 at 127.45 MPH

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Approximately 3000 DA - 88F 94% humidity. 3/4 tank of fuel - 94 octane.

11.0’s for every run except for one. 127+ MPH.

Many more pics to come - LC was a snap - I find gently applying pressures to the brake - increasing it until you feel it lock.

Super consistent - I will be back with less fuel and cooler temps. I believe the Competiton package is good for 1-2 tenths and 1-2 MPH over the M5.

I also believe I will see a 10.7-10.8 at 128+ (maybe even 129) MPH with cooler weather...

Stay tuned for much nicer pics and maybe a video (someone else’s).

This would have been another 10.9x pass - but I stated and the tower wasn’t ready. Just activating LC makes the car hit on a day like today...
I have a video of this pass.

2019 Corvette C7 Z06 vs the F90 M5 Competition...it was hot, prep was okay, and his car is a manual that he just got...launching was tricky.

And I believe the tires ARE an issue. Comparing this to other F90 slips in the 1.6x 60’ range and I am a solid tenth off which is up to 2 tenths at the towers - so that is significant.

Freakin Pirelli.

With no Launch control...I’m on the right (007). Not too shabby. You can definitely see the difference on the 60’.

And my official slip - I don’t want anyone to think there’s a conspiracy lol.

That 11.46 matches up with the goof ball vids floating around of the M5 getting owned by xxxxxxx. Don't race them if you don't know how to launch.

Great job. Killer car.

For comparison that's about what my M5 ran with launch control at about the same DA. I have found using launch control to be SUPER consistant but without it is about a .10th faster. My best 60ft was a 1.64

Thanks my friend - the LC is actually pretty easy - but like anything else it’s just knowing how...I will go back with less fuel and cooler weather.

The tires are the difference for my 60’. I average 1.76 - and that one tenth will be for at least another tenth to tenth and a half - plus with cooler weather my MPH will hit at least 128 - maybe even 129+.

The car moves out. I have a video against a stock 2019 C7Z06 and my other 11.0 run...posting soon.

I have a video of me against a 2019 C7 Z06 that I will post...(11.9/122 to 11.0/127.4) - manual car, and I beat a poorly tractioned Demon on race fuel with no LC. He ran a best of 10.8x today - but had a 132 MPH trap. He has run 10.5 at 128 on pump gas.

I have my 11.0 video that I will post - and Yes...For probably the best reference a 991.2 Porsche Turbo ran a best of 10.86 at 128 MPH. He averaged 10.9x at about the same MPH. That car has a launch control at 6500 RPM lol...F90's? 2300...I actually felt the LC on the F90 was underwhelming - and didn't seem hard on the car at all. The E63S is I believe 4500 stock and you can adjust it.

Oh - and it was hot.

The F90 is a monster. I imagine with a very conservative tune, the base M5 (what I have) could put down similar numbers.

You will - without a doubt - I will run a 10.8 in cool air - and with less fuel.

There was an event at Sparta - a track I like for this power level - which meant at least some prep (it was okay) - versus no prep at TMP - which is my home track. I know the owners of each so it’s fun wherever I go lol.

I believe it is comfortably in the 10’s with better DA. My 10.9 was my second pass. Right lane was better than the left. If I had run the right while the car was as super cool before starting to race - it would have given me a 10.90 or better. The car got hotter - not cooler since.

Plus the 3/4 tank was ridiculous - but I didnt know the gas station situation - so I filled up and the MPG was pretty good lol.

So lots left...car is still new...

I thought you could adjust the launch control RPM? You can in the F10 by using the center button on the left of the steering wheel up or down.
