well ive never seen the lips get chewed up where these wheel well extenders attach. mostly due to the fact the wheel is tucked under this portion of the fender. Its only where the wheel extends past the fender where i would expect to see impacts and these do not cover that portion.

dont get me wrong, i wish they did. It just drives me nuts that they are being viewed as such by so many. They only exist due to a stupid law in europe/GB, etc. and because of that, someone made a carbon version because you know...carbon, lol.

I have all gloss black as well. The splash guards are pretty inconspicuous, and so little of the splash guard shows you'd really have to be looking for them to notice the difference. To me the protection for the quarter panels and doors is more important than the slight aesthetic difference.

I used a small metal punch as well.

The roads here in NC have a lot of gravel and are always falling apart. Prior to adding the front splash guards there was a lot of debris along the bottom side. I would say that it cut down the amount of junk kicked up on the side of the car by around 80%.

I would get them again if I got a new M5.

Do you have a link for the longer plastic nuts? Mine keep popping out and I have to constantly push them back in. Thanks.
