I wonder about the spring and dampers. If it will make it ride maybe a little too hard for the street. I mean most folks aren't actually going to track the car and performance on the everyday street is sometimes better with softer suspension. IMO

Yeah, this really sucks. I would have ordered this model if it had been available at the M5 launch or shortly after. I haven't even taken delivery of mine yet. Awful release schedule BMW...

This is the real M5 competition ;-)
Seriously, when I have time, I'll do a M5 competition render that is more distinctive...

My car is coming next month and i'm actually not pissed off at all, I have the M seat belts and the sport exhaust and I think the car is already stiff enough (might track it once a year). It will be my dd, plus the wheels are as bad as the base M5!

" The launch of the new 2019 BMW M5 Competition Sedan, along with the recently announced M2 Competition Coupe, marks the creation of a new product category within BMW M GmbH’s line-up, with the most powerful variants of its high-performance cars to be available in the future as standalone Competition models. This restructuring of the M portfolio has been prompted by the strong popularity of the various model-specific M Competition packages. " From now forward the lineup will be... base competition MODEL (not competition Package) CS (track oriented with 4 seats ) CSL (if offered - track model with 2 seats) Last edited by M3 Adjuster; 05-08-2018 at 07:58 PM.. |

How is something like that even missed to begin with?
I mean, wouldn’t you check all the shit you’re actively pointing out as new and distinguishing features?

i agree that bmw should go amg route and launch amg and amg S similar model lineups from the start.
However i suspect bmw knows its clientbase well and just gambles knowing those that have bought the new m5 wont care and possibly upgrade since they have deep pockets.I will be suprised if any current f 90 owner thinks its lacking raw power anyway.

This pack really doesn't render the early M5s obsolete at all. For the people using this as a DD (most people I'm guessing), it'll be hard to notice the difference on the road.
WRT cosmetics, all of the blackout trim stuff can be done much cheaper by purchasing parts from IND or another site like that, or just wrapping the chrome parts in black. Even the M sport exhaust can be added for like $2k, the only changes more difficult to replicate are the wheels and suspension setup. But I'd prefer the more comfortable suspension (again, it's a DD, I have no intent to track this thing), and I think the comp wheels are awful (though I'm sure they're likely lower weight). |

Good looking M... but I'd probably buy the non-comp one and save the dough. I think the exhaust could sway me if it sounds good enough though.
