The only way we can tell how much better is from the Nurburgring lap time. This way we can get a reference bench of how it stands vs the previous M5 and the top M4 variants.
Of course it won't show how much more consistent novice/amatuer drivers are as the difference could be 40% better but at peak professional level probably 10%. Also, Nissan has this tech in the GTR for years so it shouldn't be new. Considering BMW licensed tons of it's technology from many companies (looking at all the copyright info in iDrive which is super lengthy), hopefully BMW adopted some technology from Nissan secretly otherwise the AWD racing system could half-assed to the point of failure like the Samsung 7 phones where they prob tried to copy proprietary and work around patents that Tesla or other competitors had results in them catching fire resulting in huge financial losses of which could have been averted had talks been made to do it right. Am I the only one skeptical that a 2WD, no DSC setting will make it past the BMW NA legal department?

I don't buy into the whole excuse of too much HP for a dual clutch, specially when Porsche sell the Panamera Wagon with 550HP or the Macan with a 4500lbs towing rating
The ZF 8 speed is a low cost solution, and they went for it. Are we surprised it can be 2wd on demand ? It's like that in every pickup with the ZF8HP I feel like BMW is miscalculating here, because people went with mostly with the DCT in the F10 doesn't mean they wanted an automatic, specially since the dct does not behave like a slushbox (no creep).

Who here likes gear jerk in lower gears with DCT? ZF is much smoother....

PDK in Porsche is butter smooth in lower gears. This might not be a popular opinion but BMW just couldn't engineer the DCT properly and gave up.

Having driven my old F10 M5 back to back against the ZF8 equipped RS6 I'm disappointed that they have chosen to follow Audi.
It's just not sporty and too smooth, for me a big car that is very isolated from the road like the G30, needs tech that brings some rawness to the party to give it some M spirit.
