winter wheels
Was just wondering whether anyone has found a set of cheap wheels for winter tires.
I've found some cheap-ish Niche rims here to slap the winters onto, however, couldn't confirm the fit online as they don't have the '18 M5 specs in their database Size: 20" x 10.5" Hub Bore: 66.6 mm Offset: 27 mm Bolt Pattern: 5x112 The specs seem to line up, however, I emailed the site to confirm ... and they claimed that "cast won't work, and I have to order forged". This seems like a poor attempt at upselling ... or am I missing something? |

It could very well be upsell. But, the problem with the M5 since the F10 is the size of the front brakes. Not all 19" wheels are created equal and many don't clear the M5 front brakes. It could be the stronger forged wheel is designed with a thinner drum that will clear the brakes while the cast wheel will not. something worth asking to sniff out an BS.

Yep. So they told me the 19 perhaps did not have enough brake clearance, hence up sizing to 20 give there's not a huge price difference.
After I went up to 20, that was their next response. The only practical explanation is that the construction of the wheel is not strong enough... But that seems like a flimsy argument |
