Why? Because they are expensive? These HRE look so similar to the fir already. Just squint and tell yourself they are bbs
I'm pretty sure those HRE wheels are more expensive than the bbs FI-R. There's just something with the look of the FI-R that looks so much better than the HRE to me. All the colors on the FI-R have an OEM level fit and finish that looks great lol

this is why I'm angry about the stock wheel options.... not a cheap thing to replace if you want to put quality wheels on. I just wish there was an all silver version of the stock 20s.

thought the same thing until I saw the F90 in person and to me it actually has a very distinct presence in the flesh. Not to say its flashy because its not but the car has some gravitas IRL

That's a good thing. Keeps in line with the e28 M5.

HRE are fully customized wheels an will be made to fit perfect. The 19 inch FI-R and P101 are very similar in price when I looked. I don't think BBS makes 21 inch FI-R but I could be wrong.

in person youre right quite a bit different but its always been like that with every gen of 5 series. thats kind of the point of the m5 its supoose to be more lowkey than m3.

Yeah I think the bbs only go up to a 20 in bolt pattern. I think the 21 inch ones are only available in center lock.

I think 20" are max for the F90. Looks a little cartoony.

I do find it very interesting how individuals feel that the OEM manufacturer should design accessory items like wheels to their own individual taste (and somehow also be able to match the individual taste of all other buyers at the same time as well) .

As a case in point.. the wheels that you like on your F80... were declared as being HORRIBLE by many many bimmerposters (many of them making this declaration well in advance of seeing the dang things in person!)

21" does seem a bit too big IMO, and I still think a black F10 M5 LCI is more attractive...

HRE isn't even in the same league as BBS, or for that matter, Volk Racing or any of the other pedigreed motorsports wheel companies. They are a boutique wheel brand that come with an exorbitant price tag. However, marketing will be marketing, and suckers will be suckers .

Off the soap box, give it time and the aftermarket (including HRE) will help shape a wheel style that suits this car. Everyone clearly has fatigue with this design since it's been beaten to death, especially on the F8x platform.

Nice, but I prefer the OEM wheels. Especially the OEM wheels on the new M5.

I think it looks amazing.

I saw a F90 last weekend at the local dealer and was very underwhelmed with the exterior styling overall, but particularly the wheels (especially the fender gap/overhang). These wheels resolve at least that aspect.
