Labor time for install

Hi everyone,

I got quoted today, from 2 different shops, to install Eibach Springs and KW H.A.S coils.

One shop is my go to for 6 years. The other is their competitor up the road.

For the Eibach springs the time quoted was 9-11 hours.

For the KW coils it was 7.5-10 hours.

They're going by what's in the book, that's for sure. However, is it really accurate that it takes this long? I've never heard of a spring install taking this long. Coils, even though I think is still long, it's not out of this world.

Thoughts?

Thanks everyone.

Hi. I can’t comment on hours of install however I have been quoted £300/$375 to have springs fitted by a very reputable company in the UK who have their own f90 as a shop car.

Those install times seem rather unrealistic unless they’re counting 2/3 people’s time for the install

Not an apples to apples comparison, but I had my H&R springs installed in approximately 3 hours.

Yeah, something is not right here. Local shops here tend to always go by the book, instead of by the accurate time taken and the relationships built with them.

Will ask a couple more shops.

They use excuses about how it takes hours to relieve the spring tensions and then compress them again during install.
