Comp Spring on non-Comp

All

Has anyone installed the comp springs on a non-comp M5 and did it lower your car a little, maybe 1 cm? I want to lower the car ever so slightly and the dealer said they would install comp springs but flat refused to install anything aftermarket. If they will still drop the standard M5 a little, I'd probably just go that direction.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Following this and interested in outcome! I might consider a slight drop if the spring rate is tighter but not keen on what others are describing about pulling back seats out etc for some suspension solutions. I hate rattles and worry pulling things apart too much for rear suspension mods might invite unwanted noises. Springs might not require a major evisceration of the rear of the car? - maybe someone will chime in on this whom has had 550 springs/etc conversion. Let us know how it goes.

I had been reading a lot about all the different suspension installs and set ups for the F90 M5. Thursday night I finally installed my M550 springs in my M5C. The rear to me was easier than the front. The rear seats don’t have to come out. The rear shelf has to come out to access the upper 3 nuts of the rear suspension. The side pieces of the rear seats do come out allowing for the access to shelf but they pull up and out. The front is a bit harder if it’s just you by yourself doing the job alone like I was. Once I was in there I was glad I went with the M550 springs and knowing I won’t be double guessing the height. Hope it helps!

Good info. If I was to do it myself, I would go with the 550 springs, I just don't have the time so I was looking to find a way to get BMW to do it during my standard maintenance. I understand why they don't want to install aftermarket parts but I don't know any other place I trust enough.

Are there no trust-worthy indy shops near you that can do this install for you?
