Its minute to say the least and this is not a track car. If you are the least concerned I would just keep it OEM.

Spring rate will change since you are changing to different spring.
But, damper valving will not since you are still using stock damper.
So, you will still be in control on your dampening via the driving mode.

I'm probably not saying this correctly. I'm not so concerned about any changes in "feel"...this would be my first suspension modification...so I don't understand all the terms and features/differences.

What I'm trying to confirm is whether a change in springs will impact the electronic features/adjustability of the suspension. Sounds like "no", but just wanted to make sure I have a full understanding before doing a switch. I don't want to find out later that a spring switch eliminated comfort mode or something else.

Changing springs alone will not affect the electronic features and adjustability from inside the cabin. You can go with springs or KW HAS at the moment. Now, if you went to a KW coilover, then you’d lose your in-cabin adjustability.

Thanks for the clarity and as Wintendo stated, you are not going to lose any EDC functionality. The main intent of the springs, to me, is form over function. You want a better eye sight of the car when parked as did I. I still wallow over going to the M550i set up but for several reasons I hold off:

1. When I back out of my garage in my other cars the F90 looks plenty low but then again I backing in an R8, GTS, Porsche or an NSX and they are all much lower

2. Im lazy and dont want to go and lose a day for lowering further and then realigning.

3. I dont like Ben LOL aka r33_RGSport and he does my local work

4. Im lazy

So a realignment is necessary after the spring change?

100%

You are changing the geometry of the oem specs and will need to reset the camber, caster, and toe. Most shops will have the OEM specs and can get the car back to range. If you dont do this you will possible have excessive tire wear and handling issues plus other issues like steering pull.

It would depends on how low you are going.
1" or less usually is not a big deal.
But, again, it will depending on the suspension setup.
In this case, the suspension design is double wishbone / multilink.
Where the alignment doesn't change much.

Camber, usually on double wishbone (front on F90 M5) is not adjustable.
While on the rear, multilink, is adjustable both toe and camber.

On McPherson suspension design though, like 2/3/4 series (include M), there is camber adjustment on the front.

What kills the tire is mainly the toe setting.

Ummm...what? So are you saying I should drive it and see what happens afterwards? While clearly I'd be able to tell if it was pulling, not sure I'd notice any other issues around excessive tire wear (until it was too late).

I'll need to get my 1200 mile service done in the not too distance future, so could probably have an alignment done at the same time at my dealership.

You can get it aligned right away.
But, usually I recommend to have the spring settled for 1-2 weeks before alignment.

Not affected.
