Door creak (usually rubber seals)
IS anyone else experiencing the dreaded BMW door creak?
I've had this on perhaps 4 of my Ms and it's usually remedied using products like Gummi Pflege that lubricate and protect rubber seals on boats, cars, etc. I've applied it twice but it's still doing it so I wondered if anyone has experienced and knows of a solution? |

Not got this on my car, but i do know what it is. It is the felt part of the seal, at the very top, that sits, and rubs against the door shuts of the body work. Im convinced that it is some shampoos that make this occur, when it dries onto the felt parts.
Try just rubbing these felt parts with a damp rag, and polishing the areas of the door shuts where they meet. Failing this, ive had good results, with various cleaners, and a toothbrush. The seals are not damaged, or degraded, but just need cleaning etc, good luck. |

I think it is key to actually wash those seals and the frame around the door with car washes. It adds some time but keeps the seals clean and squeak free. There are several products to lubricate. I have the Zymol product but have not had to use it on my last few cars.

I had this, and it sounded like it was coming from within the exterior mirror when flexed. Surprisingly, it is now all gone front and back after having the car detailed after the track.

I had the worst door creaks on my e90 back in the day. Neither Gummi Pflege nor 3m tape would fix the problem permanently. One day while clearing out a storage unit I came across an interior protectant which I used to detail my old e39 with. I remembered that it left the interior panels silky smooth. So I decided to apply that product to the rubber door seals all around. One of the best decisions ever
Cured the problem right away. It usually lasts several months and then I just reapply it as soon as I hear a single creak. Give it a try if nothing else works for you. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 |
