Widest tires possible?
Doing a full engine build on my M5 and was wondering what’s the fattest PS4 or R888 I can fit front and rear? Also don’t want any dsc issues of course!

I'm running
285/35/20 4s 305/35/20 4s That's the max I would say so the ride height is within specs and speedometer is spot on.

Your 285/305 is 2% difference. 295/305 is 1.1% difference, exactly like stock. |

What about rolling circumference for 285/295 and 295/305? I'm curious about upsizing as well, just don't want to damage the transfer case.

Ya that's always been a big no no in the X forums due to issues with the transfer case and then dealer not warranting because of the tire issue. Hell even heard of a dealer trying not to warranty an issue because the owner swapped out the oem RFT

Remember that for winter you are allows to go with 265/35r20 and 285/35r20 which as a 20mm stagger on the same profile ends up being about the same 2% difference the whole way through other sizes

I am running this setup on OEM 789Ms with Pilot Sport All Season 4s during the winter months. I’m 5k miles in with no issues whatsoever. This is roughly the same rolling diameter ratio as the OEM spec winter wheel and tire set.
I’m not a fan of the stretched look of the OEM tires. A little more sidewall does a great job of closing the wheel gap and is extra insurance from potholes and curbs. Along with the MPHAS and 15mm spacers up front I love the look. |
