you need to hook up the caps across the leads...if the caps pop then the polarity is reversed on thecap. think of power as water...it flows from positive thru your device to ground...in this case the device is the cap. so the arrow is the drection of the water flow. so the arrow is pointing away from the red wire to the black wire. Make sense? and dont try the error eliminators..i have tried 2 of them and non of them worked! its really hit or miss.

You need something like this...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT

I got one but sometimes I have to turn the fogs on and off until they turn on, after that they will stay on....the problem is because the car is looking for a bulb of 55w and most hid kits are 35w so the car thinks the bulb is broken and cuts the signal....

If your assumption is correct, a resistor would address the problem alot better than flipping your HIDs on/off all the time, which is derating the bulbs

If you wired in the capacitor as shown and it "blew", you need to find out whats going on with your wiring and/or electrical system before adding any more components.

What does this mean?

"My Car is reversed polarity"

that means i either have to flip the plug that goes to the balast the other way around or the plug that connects to the manufacturer plug around in order for it to work. If i plug them normally it will be - to + and + to -

Lets clear this up.

The plug coming from the car should be your reference unless in the unlikely event BMW got it wrong during assembly. To check, probe the BMW connector with a DVM. The pin to the brown wire is ground (-). The pin to the yellow-with-brown-stripe wire should be +. If this isnt the case then get it fixed.

If you are using a ballast that has a plug where the pins are flipped around with respect to the plug coming from the car, then send the ballast back. If I had received that unit I would have immediately returned it. God only knows what else got by quality control.
