Also i dont think the sound is any different than the F10..Maybe louder?

And shouldn't timo as a racing driver participate and give inputs on the development of the car? Seems like its his first drive on it.
It's just you. It sounds exactly the same.
Thats what i said..i guess you miss-quoted.
Whoops, I miss quoted! Lol!

The biggest setback is the soft suspension underlined by Timo at 15.49 and tried to be concealed by BMW guy immediately. 540i M M550i G30 have all the same problem: softer suspension even with passive dampers.

I think this is a minus if compared with F10

Sounds synthetic to me.

Nice power and handling for such a large heavy sedan. Also, impressive transmission behavior. However, I don't see the point... Not the best choice for a race track car, and pointless on public roads where you might as well just go with an M550i or even a 540i.

As expected, new M1 and M2 buttons at thumbs reach mounted separately from the usual steering wheel button clusters. And there seems to be some red on them, might it be that they are actually red but camouflaged into black on the test car? In which case the engine start button might also be red (hence why it is covered?), but maybe that would be too extreme for a super saloon

Of course they use the same M engine for all the M vehicles like every single model in the past?

Timo Glock...if I remember correctly...he's the F1 Toyota driver Hamilton passed...last lap...last turn...in the rain...in Brazil to win his first title and deny Massa who crossed the line to win the race and thinking he also won the title....only to find out seconds later Hamilton passed Glock to deny him

That interior looks absolutely gorgeous.

I love my F80, but this might have to be my next car. I miss my F10.

My prediction:
0-200km/h less than 11s
Let's see yours!
If M5 F10 Anniversary (600hp) goes 0-100 in 4s and 0-200 in 11.8, the new M5 wins 0.5 from 0-100 and the rest from its weight reduction.
So it will be somewhere near the 911 Turbo.
For a saloon, well done BMW!

I still dream of my E60 M5 with a dinan exhaust going through tunnels at 8000rpm.

Agreed. The sound really dies down when he switches to "relaxed" mode at about 22.30

Dirk is such a backseat driver, lol. I guess you don't want to mess up the prototype. I love that there is no BMW logos on it, like you don't know what it is already.

This thing sounds like a beast. What more do you want in a larger four-door family sedan??? It looks like it drives amazing for the size. It looks like they nailed it with the drivetrain. And it's cool that there is still paddle shifting at least. I hope you guys enjoy this one.

Thanks BMW M and Dirk for listening to me regarding the need and want for "M xDrive" with rear-bias in all the future M cars. It's taking me 10 long years of requesting this and now finally seeing it come to fruition is exciting to see. Can't wait to see it in the upcoming M4s!

Don't worry about soft suspension folks. As you would expect from Bmw, this M5 is like half of what it could be. The full car will be presented as the ZCP with updated everything, so you need to trade-in and pay a premium price over the half-ass "normal" version.

Yup. Timo chose to stay on on slicks after everyone else had switched to intermediates.
That worked well with very light rain, but the rain got worse and he started sliding around.
Hamilton was stuck behind Vettel, but they both passed Glock on the last lap.

Agree. So what exactly does M GmbH bring to the party here?
Better differential programming? Better xDrive programming?
Better suspension programming? More progressive nanny-shepherding?

So how much more does BMW want to charge for this better software?

A few races stand out...Schui clinching his 3rd title...Hamilton getting his first stand out...and a few others

Lol exactly. I'm gonna enjoy my F10 for another couple of years and then pick up that LCI comp pack M5 in 2020.
