Houston here, dealer is at 5.59% for 48/60 months and 6.09% for 72 months on financing.

MF is 0.00225 on leases. They won't budge despite the lower buy rate mentioned on here.

Sounds like they need to build a little more inventory. They won’t budge. I won’t budge. If we had all done that over the last two years prices for everything wouldn’t be so out of whack.

That's not how the human race works, you're never going to find the solidarity you need to let the cars rot on the dealership lot.

Yes and no.

Sure, there's always buyers with money is no object spending power and they're going to pay whatever it takes to get what they want. While I consider myself to be very fortunate (and hard working) to have the things we do, I'm not one of those.

I rotated thru four cars during the pandemic and I did not pay over MSRP for any of them (including a 992).

There's been a lot of extra cash floating around for the past few years - and until the rest of the working world returns to working from an office, I suspect the extra disposable income that would normally be spent on commuting, dry cleaning, lunches, etc will continue to go into luxury purchases (cause pretty much across the range BMW are considered luxury goods). Once this cash dries up (and I think we're closer than others do), I think we'll see the last of the ADMs dry up. I'd like to believe there are a lot of us here in the BMW community (and especially the M5 community) who work very hard for our incomes and we didn't get here by overpaying for things.

Don't get me started on what the repo market is going to look like in the next 12-18 months when all these cars purchased at 30, 40, 100k ADMS correct in value and their owners (who may have financed) realize they'll be under water for the life of the loan.

FYI, I've been working on pre-approval today and found that Navy Federal (if you are eligible to join) is the best overall right now. Rate of 5.04% @ 72-months, and they offer GAP for $399. PenFed looks really high, and USAA came in second at 5.09% @ 72-months. Currently waiting on app to go through at NFCU. I stopped short at USAA and didn't let them do the inquiry after I looked at NFCU.

Another data point.

Our dealer agreed to a 2023 M5 for $106k. It has the following:

-5k miles
-competition package
-executive package
-driver’s assistance package
-bowers wilkins sound package
-extended leather (not full leather)

Different dealer offered $8k off within first two email exchanges on a new 2023 M5 with same above options. Ask for more. Viva la revolucion

Recently got a lease quote on a 2023 M5 116k MSRP
First quoted 5k off
Then they kept giving me lease rates and lower each time.
Lowest I got was $1717 (9.75% tax included) and $3450 drive off
10k/36mo

I didn't get it, probably going to finance a used one with 30k-40k miles

Prices here in the Netherlands are so much higher. My M5C was €232k MSRP including 21% tax. And 57k(!) bpm.

OUCH! I know these are always more in almost every other country in the world, but damn! And I realize that a good portion is not actually the price of the car (BPM stings!), but it effectively is if that’s what you’ve got to pay to own it, even if all cars require the payment of BPM, and that it would be significantly less on a cheap European economy car.

You’re right at about $250K USD. That’s dedication and I think it speaks volumes about this car.
