It turns out my 2018 had the factory blocks in the front springs. It just goes to show you taking car to dealership for oil changes etc they never noticed.

Car absorbs bumps better than factory base springs. I haven’t fully tested in the corners but also looking for improvement.

Do the 550 springs technically have a more aggressive drop than the Eibach Pro Kit specified for M5? Thanks!

M550xi springs drop an M5 more than M5 specific springs like H&R M5 or Eibach Pro M5.

After lowering car I noticed that my headlights were not projecting as far on the road at night even though they move with steering wheel. I noticed I had to utilize my high beams but never did before.

There is an adjust under hood behind headlights for allen wrench to adjust and they are visible. I adjusted height foe better visibility post lowering springs. It literally took me 30 seconds to do both. Problem corrected with headlights and thought I would share.

I am contemplating switching he the H&R 550i springs. Currently on the Eibach Pro Kit for M5. I am on 20" wheens, Titan7 specs for size and offset. Will I see any rubbing by moving to the 550i springs? I do not want any rubbing while driving or full lock turning. Thanks!

Countless people use the 550 springs and I have never seen anyone say anything about rubbing. That said I don’t have them myself so will let the experts confirm.

Did these springs and some spacers on my f90 about a year ago, I love the stance but the Southern California roads don’t make for a fun ride. I’m having the stock springs reinstalled very soon. Looks amazing but the the ride quality does suffer a bit.

I am in California and no complaints here. Are you on 21s or 20s?

M550 HR springs is a softer ride than my stock pre LCI.

If I could do it over again I would have went with M5 H&R lowering springs for stiffer ride and better handling when pushing car hard in the corners.

My car above also settled 1/4” lower after a week or so.

The H&R M550xi springs are more the cosmetic option for less wheel to fender gap than the performance option for better handling, and cosmetics seems to be the primary interest of members here. Still, maybe the lower center of gravity offsets the softer spring enough to provide some overall handling improvement.

I used the springs H&R developed for the M5 — made sense to me, but the ride is stiffer than stock on my 2018 M5. I am not sure how it would compare to a 2019 Comp. I will probably buy a used set of the late Comp struts at some point for the improved valving. Probably won’t go to coilovers like KV4 because I like the adjustable suspension settings — in my daily driving on the roads in my area, I do not need or want stiff all the time.
