Did they do a test for the AMG 63s saloon (sedan)? What did it do?
No SA did not test the E63S sedan. They did for the estate version and it did 7:45.

I definitely believe the sedan will be faster but by how much? Personally I think the M5 is probably 2-3 seconds faster than the E63S sedan, if I were to bet.

100kg weight advantage for the M5 makes a difference on any track.

Now you guys got me looking at these track videos...i'm certifiably afflicted.

Though the base sticker on the GT3 RS is +70K US .. its an interesting run when play side by side with the 2019 M5 CP. And there are some other helpful graphics of the run.

Speed Safely

Cheers.

However SA did test the E63S sedan against the M5 on Hockenheim and M5 was 0.7 seconds quicker

I love it when you guys refer to the M5 as "normal"! I feel bad for the poor guys with the 535's and 550's.

This is a critical point. Manufacturer times are usually the maximum possible for that car/platform as they are there for weeks at a time and running multiple runs with tweaking - and with professional drivers with a ton of Nurburgring experience. SA drivers are also very experienced - but they take the car as is - do TWO laps (warm up/flyer and then full lap) - no fiddling with the car - no multiple best laps over weeks.

That is a massive difference.

Video looked to me like a skilled driver wrestling an alligator!

I suspect a pro driver could easily go several seconds faster bc/pro! The M5 Competition Model should go faster still with the suspension, tuning and wheel changes. No way a Gulia (!!!!!) is faster than any M5.

No matter what, this is not really a track sportscar, but it is representing very well!

SA's ring driver is a pro driver. Obviously not a pro that was good enough to drive in F1 or other major series like that but he was in German GT series for a little bit.
