Many guys on X3M/X4M been using it for 20k miles with no issue.
I wasn't thinking on doing F90 M5 until my F95 X5M / F96 X6M customers asking for it, then I found out that F90 M5 and F9x M8 are using the same pads.

I have used it on my X3MC and current G05 X5 for 2 years. No issue so far.

Excellent news for sure.

I hate to bring up an old thread but I’ve read all the old posts and wondering if anyone found a solution to the squeaky brakes for pre lci F90s. I just bought my car about 5 weeks ago and I’m ready to sell it. I have a Sunday driver that has the same problem that I can deal with. I can’t have my daily driver this bad. I’d be happy with new brake pads if they last 10 to 15k miles.

Brakes on my 23 M5C never squeal (3700 miles so far). So it’s likely that BMW improved the OEM pads. Maybe try finding out if the part numbers changed?

Brake dust is another story though

The only solution (which is a generous term) that I saw was switching to an after market pad. I started a thread about this a couple of years ago when I had my pre-LCI. The reason I say using the term solution is generous is because while I didn’t see it happen to all users of all the different options, there were at least some users from the all options that had the squeal come back after they installed OE pads.

I had the exact same frustration as you. Sorry it’s happening to you, too. It is really annoying.

On my LCI with (what I suspect are the) new pads, I got to exactly 6,246 miles with absolutely zero squeal. I am having a little squeal now since then at low speed braking where the brakes are being held, but still nowhere near as bad as my pre-LCI.

This is all speculation and conjecture and I have no proof the pads were actually changed, though anecdotally from many of us, it seems that something did.

brake noise

I also had my 18' M5 checked for horrible brake noise at least half a dozen times during the warranty period (normal operation) they finally put on new rotors and brake pads front only after 15000 miles at BMWs expense after warranty expired only to have the noise come back even louder after only 1000 miles. I finally got recommendation from a BMW mechanic to buy these: (BMW M5 F90 Bluestuff Front Brake Pads). Unfortunately more dusty but so far after 2 months and 1000 or so miles have had no squealing (yet). There is nothing better to come to a stop driving a 120K car and not have everyone look at you when you pull up to a light.

Yes, BMW changed the part number and the M brakes are now supplied by Textar who used to supply all brake pads for M Cars until 2019, before BMW switched to Akebono for 3 years which produced the most horrible noise ever, then switched to Pagid for another 2 years where the noise was noticeably less, and finally switched back to Textar which is the quietest and the softest (although quite dusty).

For those who are still experiencing the dreaded squeal in F90, F95, G80, you can simply buy the Textars with the part number 224101 and your problem is solved forever!
