Don't understand why does mirrors have to be so darn big?
The overall shape of the car seems to be square imo, reminisce of the e46 maybe? Other than that the car looks good. Can't wait to test-drive one... |

I like the direction but have some concerns. I really, really, really don't like the 'electronic gizmo' automatic shift. I've driven the new 5 series as a loaner and while it works, just another electronic gizmo to fail ultimately (IMO).
Second - the larger length and smaller displacement engine will mire this car in the late 6 second 0-60. I anticipate that it will be more than the A4 variant which gets into the low 40s QUICK price wise. If BMW goes loaded 3series with the 4cyl variant for 45k, count me out. I'll continue to purchase CPO and let the masses take the hit on the technology. I like the torque on the new 4 cylinder but it will be peaky. |

This. I remember years ago when I would get excited if I saw xenon headlights coming toward me because it was a high end car... now tons of cars of xenons... but still not standard on the 3 series!

This is marketing, it is good to see BMW knows how to leave room for the lucrative upgrades.

its not marketing, its ignorance ... its stretching into Audi territory making us pay for whats standard on a Challenger. I always get the top engine model so its standard but just sort of insulting/mind-boggling to see non-xenon BMWs on the road, honestly

It is crazy how they still make cars with halogens especially since the xenons are much safer and a much better lighting source. Some cars are even coming with LED headlights now, xenons are not even the top of the range lighting source anymore, it is one of those pieces of technology that should have been trickled down to every slightly premium car by now.
