Changing the options..

well,
i am kinda embarassed to ask this question to my sales person at the moment...
but i have to go ahead and ask you guys for insight....

i already put a deposit on the car but if i wanted to change options, will the dealer be real annoyed by this? and would it cost extra to do that?

i ordered a 325i sapphire black with bare minimum options and now i want to change to a jet black with sports package..

what do you guys think?

If you don't like it or wishes to change orders before signing any contract, its your decision & you should not get penalised for that.. I ordered a 325i sapphire black, gave a deposit of $500 on my VISA, and my sales guy told me its refundable at any time. I can also refuse the car if I find something wrong with it when it arrives or if I changed my mind.

LOL never heard of a dealer complain about a customer changing an order to add more options (spend more $$).

This is one of the reasons I believe the deposit is fully refundable and the deal is obligated to tell you that.

You're spending a lot of money on a car, you should be able to get exactly what you want.

I'm getting basically the same car as you btw (jet black/sprts package) in a week (hopefully).

My advice ... make sure you're getting Xenon lights as well. It changes the look of the car by a lot (IMO) so there's no point in skimping on it.

I lucked out because even though I didn't pick it as an option, it turns out all 325i models in Canada have Xenon standard

Haha man that is the exact same thing that happened to me. Im a 22 yr old college student, and i wanted xenon really badly, but it was going to be about 2-3 months for my car to come in with xenon. Or i could wait 2 weeks and have my car.. So i didnt get the xenon, and just like you, 330 was too $$$ for me... But either way, the 325 is just as cool

I tried to add BMW Assist one week after placing order, but was told it was too late.

assist

So you have to add the assist as an option? I thought it was included if you have the I-Drive? I could be wrong

As long as your order is not in production, you can still change the options no issue.

where i bought my car the salesman told me that once i paid a deposit and ordered the car the order went into a production waiting list and that i had about 2-3 weeks whereby i could change my order at any time, before it was my turn to get the car into production, as a fact i changed my order two times and the salesman was more than pleased to assist me in anything i wanted.
