2020 M5C Snapper Rocks Blue

Finally took delivery yesterday at the Performance Center. Order date was 12/26/19. Car was here well before that but the performance center was very booked-up so getting an appointment added a bit of time.

This was my second time doing a performance delivery, and it is still a great experience. We drove one of their M5C for the morning, putting the car though some spins on the skid pad, some hard emergency braking, followed by a few laps around the track, and finishing off with a hot lap driven by one of their race instructors. Watching/riding with these professionals was such a thrill and really confirms how well these cars perform when pushed hard.

As for the color, I absolutely could not be happier about Snapper Rocks. It certainly was the main attraction in the lobby that day.

Jean-Claude from Detailed Designs met me there to pick up the car in his covered trailer to take to his Atlanta-area shop for PPF and Modesta coating. I have been a customer of Detailed Designs for a few years now and have always been impressed with the quality of work and professionalism. I cannot recommend them highly enough. In fact, part of my motivation for Performance Delivery was that the car would be closer to Atlanta for Jean-Claude to pick up.

It's hard to not drive the car home, but a week of extra wait won't hurt and should well worth it. I am super-excited about how the Snapper Rocks will look once the Modesta coating has been applied. Modesta products are notable for their "wet-candy" finish, and they work particularly well on blue paint.

Of course, this thread is useless without pics so here are a few.

That is IMO the best colour for the M5 I had it on my 2018 F90 M5 , could not find a 2019 F90 M5 Comp in that colour so went MBB Metallic.

Marina Bay is fantastic, too. I was really torn between that and Snapper.

Snapper Rocks is louder and more attention-grabbing, IMO. My last 2 cars have been white, so I really felt like a change of pace with color this time around.

Congrats! I have a 2019 comp in SRB as well. It’s such a beautiful color really. Now go get yourself some wheel spacers, painted reflectors and axxion rear reflectors. Enjoy it!

Beautiful car! Question for you: would you say that your photos are accurate in terms of capturing the color? I haven’t been able to see a SRB M5 in real life, and the photos I’ve seen vary from a light blue to almost a teal/green blue.

Those pictures capture it well, here is my 2018 M5.

Yes, my pictures at the performance center did come out looking very accurate. It was an overcast day, however. I think that on sunny days SNB can be somewhat of a chameleon color and take on that teal hue. I will know more when I get the car back from my detailer and actually see it on a sunny day.

When I was deciding on colors I did a lot of looking online and, like you, I found that pictures of SNB varied quite dramatically. I eventually saw SNB on a 4 series at a dealership and I decided against it, and was requesting a lease quote from a dealer for a MBB order. However, this dealer was not being very transparent about giving me numbers and I walked away.

2 days later I was on a road trip and I passed by another BMW dealer and walked in just to see what they had on their lot. As luck would have it, they had a SNB in their showroom and a MBB on the lot. Once I saw SNB on an actual M5 it was game over. I knew that was the color I wanted.

At the performance center on Friday, my SNB car was the one all the other delivery customers were gathering around. It really is an exciting color and demands attention. Also, throughout the day there were employees at the center stopping me and saying it was their favorite car to come though the center in a while.

It's tough choosing a colour for the M5, as there aren't many around, on the roads or in dealerships, so the choice is often made from online research.

Nice choice OP!

Snapper rocks was my first choice but unfortunately from where I am, the sales volume is very low and when I wanted to purchase the M5C there was only 1 unit left on the boat on it's way to where I am. It's the marina bay blue with the Silverstone merino interior. I had wanted a black interior for ease of maintenance but left with no choice.

forgive my rant, I still love my m5c though I would have preferred it in snapper rocks blue. Congrats on your M5C!

Interesting - I had the same experience! Saw a 4-series gran coupe in snapper rocks blue and really didn't think it looked great. But every time I see pics of an M5 in the same color, it looks fantastic. Thanks for the reply and enjoy your car!

Congrats on the new M5. Like you I went with Snapper Rocks Blue Metallic. I was transitioning from a Mineral White M3 (F80) to the F90. I thought I was going to go with Alpine White but luckily my dealership had numerous M5's in different colors and one being the Snapper Rocks Blue Metallic.

If you look the the photos closely, you will notice a box of goodies from IND sitting on the ground.

If you're looking for a good shop in the area, Polished Protection in Signal Hill is the best (imho).

Nice car! Jean-Claude from Detailed Designs Auto Spa is awesome. He did my Porsche 718 GTS and not one defect after 2 years on the road. The guy is a master of PPF! Highly recomended.
