I consider this your best 60-130 run (which you ran the next day) and the dragy graph is not all fucked up, with extremely unusual fluctuations in speed and acceleration. Update your chats .. and re run your 6.75 with a dragy graph that is clearly not manipulated or being affected by what appears to some very scary unsafe fluctuations caused by the tune (it appears as if on shift your car stops accelerating and then lunges forward at shift with excessive and unsafe boost levels or something very weird). What's going on in this graphs ? Also ... what boost and fuel because your 2019 M5 Comp was much, much slower running the same setup (but on 92). I'm not going to entertain this discussion if we can't be fully transparent on boost target and the specific fuel mix used because these cars are extremely sensitive to those factors.

Also, I only have one quarter time on my car w DME tune before I added downpipes. That time was 10.57 seconds, with a horrendous 60 ft of 1.70 (driver error) but with a trap speed of 133mph at 1000 DA in 70 degree weather. This is on my 2019 M5 Comp on 93 octane at a 21 boost target in the DME tune

This compares to your 10.34 (on the 2020 M5 Comp) @ 132mph with a 1.56 60 ft at a negative DA of 256 in 40 degree weather with unknown fuel and boost target on JB4

This is a 2/10ths difference that can probably be explained by differences in launch and driving conditions (and probably boost and fuel, since we have no idea what octane, fuel booster or psi settings you were targeting to muster that run)

I will further note that you ran a 10.74 @ only 131 mph with a 1.69 60 ft with your 2019 M5 on 23 psi boost target with pump fuel in what I assume was 60 degree weather giving that the post was in spring. These are far more comparable driving and fuel conditions as my run with a similar 60 ft and you were about 2/10ths slower w a 2 psi more boost target ...

So again if we want to do this fairly we reAlly need to know all the facts and variables

So the way I see it is

60-130

You (on normal
Dragy log ) 7.28 w unknown fuel and boost target on a 2020 comp
Me (normal dragy) - 7.18 w 93 octane and 21 boost in my 2019 comp

1/4 mile

You - 10.75 in your 2019 comp on pump w/ 23 psi target and a 1.69 60 ft in warmer weather @ 131

Me- 10.57 in my 2019 comp on pump w/ 21 psi target and a 1.70 60 ft in 70 degree weather @ 133

Actually I have a better idea:

I have DME / HCP / JB4 / and (soon) Evole

How about you tel me the settings you want on my JB4 ..

and I'll just compare them all on my car
Did you scoop up an evolve tune? I worked with imran and Mateen over past day or so to acquire an ecu and tcu tune. Didnt have a chance to do fast runs, but did drive the car and its very strong...seat of pants and jb4 logs both show it. Looking forward to playing with it.

I did indeed. None of the numbers I posted are from the M8. It's not quite there yet—tough to say if it will ever match up but it's getting closer and I suspect I'm traction bound with the stock Pirellis.

Well, this was fun.

TL;DR

I haven't read one word—just post some numbers when you get your car back. Man, did you ever pick the perfect thread for this excuse-laden debacle.

The 60-130s provide a much better comparison for this purpose

We have both showed you 60-130 times on comparable platforms that do better than jb4

I don't see what's the issue other than denial
One thing I will mention is that JB4 will beat most of the tunes stage1 tunes. Being that you guys are comparing 93oct and no mods, I think JB4 will be out perform in this instance.

Honestly, JB4 is a beast and I bet if I redid my runs now having better knowledge and meth that I could probably dip into the high 9's with it
Interesting. On what map? Full on race gas or map 6 magic?

I'm excited to hear the gains from the TCU tune—when do you expect to get some data?

In my mind, this is holding everyone back right now, ECU tunes and piggy alike. The most noticeable change for you, I hope, will be from 4th to 5th where the boost targets seem to be neutered and presumably by the ZF's torque limiter.

Sadly, I'll never get to feel it firsthand—not a modification that I can risk if I want to continue switching in and out of cars annually.

I'm hopeful that this ecu/tcu combo will also get rid of drop in boost target (i've been told it likely has to do with heat, but not iat's...who knows though.)

Well, we just went on stay at home order last night, even though we've really been doing it for a few weeks. I'll likely get out in the next few days to see what's up, though.

TCU tune alone...most noticeable difference even without driving hard is quicker shifts and better downshifts that allow for more aggressive engine breaking. Missed that when my TCU tune was overwritten when I flashed that BM3 map.

Working with the Evolve guys is easy. Told them what I was looking for, we discussed, and then they produced. I'm running a 25-26psi target map (jb4 on map 0) and the car is making full boost, which it was not doing on the BM3 map. Looking like the car will be fast (and it def feels that way)...I did tell Imran I'm not looking for 9's, just lowish 10's and trapping above 135mph on e30. I'll certainly report back.

Seems to me Hockeytyme should have the TCU tune added to his already large arsenal especially if Evolve/Imran is offering it.

For sure man. I do believe I saw hockeytyme post tcu tuning is not yet available for the 2020s.

Ah, good point--the difference does make sense since the 20's have a semi-launch function from DSC:MDM that the 19s don't. I guess it's reasonable to infer that there are a few substantial differences--Imran@Evolve, any progress on a 2020 F90 ECU tune, Imran?

Yes, it's not a matter of if Imran or anyone can make a TCU tune, it's the fact that no programs including FEMTO can flash the TCU.
At this point we can't even read it moreless flash it.

Florida, great guys for sure and solid tunes.

So it's more than a subtle difference between the MYs—interesting.

This.

The issue is the inability to actually read and flash the TCU in the 2020 models.

Once that is possible we will have the TCU tune available for these.
