I knew 2.4 isn't a daily thing. My comment about his humility has nothing to do with other than I know him. Its all good Dean
Results of acceleration times at 5:25. This should be a good comparison to Dragy because it's not a on prepped surface.

That's such an awesome car though!

Fair question--but right back at ya.

It was intended as a lighthearted assertion based solely, though perhaps insufficiently, on my experience with many other fairly powerful RWD cars. With the apparent exception of the daily-miracle-launches of a 720S, few RWD cars can put down their best launch times anything like every time... whereas 4WD cars tend to get far closer to optimal every time.

Anyway, we're going down a path here I didn't intend to ignite... naught but opinion on my part backed by zero firsthand experience with this car.

All that said, Mike's car is a Unicorn (a 2.51s 0-60mph and 10.05s 1/4 mile)--I wouldn't rule it out under road conditions. On a track with prep--ba-bye, M5.

Interestingly, I cross shopped the 720S to the TTS. (My Main Man Vic straightened me out) They do launch well for RWD but not in the TTS league on no prep. 2WD GT2RS will out launch them on no prep on 888mf races. Brook “dragtimes” has posted a bunch of track vs street times. 720s launches well, but much better on a prepped track. Loses 0.3 to 0.4 on no prep. But after they move out....don’t race a 720s in any modded M5.....possibly N20.

How’s that for thread nonsense. I’ll get banned again......

Good to know...

I have perhaps bought into the 'Brooks' mantra and 720S god'hood a little too much. But it sure seems to win in scenarios where it just shouldn't (even outside of the Dragtimes world). I'd love to spend some time launching one... and then taking it home afterwards.

Why do I gotta be a "unicorn". Isn't there a more masculine term we can use here? Lol

We had a few of these hybrids in Italy on an airforce runway this summer. They were doing 9.8 at 150 mph in the quarter on a pretty darn hot day.... maybe 8 times in a row we got to do runs before we ran out of time. Not sure if a runway would be considered a prepped surface but yeah. They hook up real good!

Wait when did you get banned?

So I get it with the 720s but the La F runs about 10 mph faster in the quarter so how much could it lose in the launch to 60 and still beat the 720s?

limeypride appreciate you

At +10 a LF isn’t going to lose to a 720S anywhere. Launch or roll.

I’m just playing about the battery weight and plugging up this thread. Lol.

Weird how that works thought right!

Funny thing is, since I have posted this I have had a number of challengers.

Yesterday I was driving down the toll road and came up on a brand new all whited out car. (even wheels were chrome and white) It also looked like big supgra from behind. Then I got up next to it and it a Ferrari 812 Superfast, it was pretty trick looking! I pulled up next to him, dropped a gear and ripped it for just a second and backed off. I let him catch up at which point he floored it. We didn't have much room before oncoming cars but we did about 80 to 120.. And I had pulled almost 2 cars on him already and had to hit the brakes. He wouldn't even look at me. I was going to give him the thumbs up.. lol

The guy still had the paper plates on the car and I honestly felt bad. He just spent 400k or more after tax and CA markup for this sick ass Ferrari and his first race he gets smoked by a family sedan.. lol
What if the F was in 'breaking-in' and couldnt push it past 5k rpm

Hey, don't spoil my fun now! lol

Na, he was going for it and I was pulling away at a steady pace. If he backed off it would have been obvious.
