1. I just couldn't square paying $130k+ for a Tesla with the interior fit and finish of a $40k base 3 series/Audi. Everything on the inside of the Tesla except for the central screen and instrument panel just looked and felt cheap.

2. Range Anxiety. I spend most weekends in the winter driving into the mountains for both resort and backcountry skiing. The main place where I ski requires a 90 mile drive with ~4800 feet of elevation gain, followed by the car sitting in a sub 32 degree parking lot for ~10-12 hours off a charger. Every time i've spoken with someone from Tesla on this use case, they couldn't confidently tell me I could make the round trip without having to charge up. The last thing I want to do on the way to or from the mountain is spend extra travel time charging the car.

That said, we are considering a Model Y for my wife as she wants a small SUV thats easy to operate, and good around town. Since she only drives ~5500 miles a year, 99% of her round trips are under 60 miles, and she has free EV charging at her work, it would make more sense than getting her an upgrade to her Volvo XC60.
Yeah based on your needs Tesla is not for you, it's a great city car.

Drove the P100D last week and all I can say, the standing acceleration is nuts!!!!
I was impressed but boy I don't think I can own one.
I wasn't even happy with stock M5 exhaust and that's why I changed the whole exhaust. It was so much more enjoyable to drive.

Friend that I know owns one and he placed deposit on roadster and ask me if I want to buy his P100D but boy I just can't do it.

It won't make me happy.

Enjoy our ICE cars while we can, noise and emission laws will just get more stringent.

Very true. The sad part is it will not be market driven. It will be driven by corrupt politicians that are doing it for kickbacks.

All of the ones that start with a "P". Webster says you con not spell corrupt correctly without a "P".

Had a P90D before the RS and it is indeed lightning fast. The acceleration is far and away the best part but like others, I got bored after a while. The interior of the car was so incredibly cheap for the price and I noticed quite a drop-off in acceleration when the battery started running low. I'll wait for a BMW/Audi electric before considering another. Elon and team should be commended for what they've done but it's not for me...yet.

Model 3 Performance vs. F90 M5 (most likely stock).

Some 1/2 Mile No Fly Zone runs:

The M3P off the line is impressive, but the F90 after 80+ is something else.

Agreed. I drove an M3P a while ago and one of the tests I did was flooring it from a 75 mph cruise on the freeway. I was not impressed at all. The 30-60mph acceleration was nuts though.

Today a gap opened up on the freeway and the M3P behind me floored it and pulled out into the gap. We were already doing 70-75. I had my JB4 in Map 3 and floored it as soon as I saw him go. I pulled away pretty fast. Then a P100D jumped in for a second and there was a 911 Turbo S not too far ahead. Unfortunately there was too much traffic to have any fun...
