Does Engine Noise Change Over time?

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
I have a 2020 F90 M5. DME Stage 2 Tune, SSR Catless Downpipes, Dinan X Midpipe.

I got this car w 0 mileage and installed all the performance mods at 1500 miles so I knew how it sounded than.

Now I have 22,000 miles and at low RPMs I hear a different noise, like its more "deep" or heavy. Its nothing bad, it sounded more "light" and smooth in low rpms before. High RPMs sound same. Exhaust sounds same. Its more of a engine noise that is deeper.

Could there be something I need to worry about?
All maintainance are done on time, new spark plugs recently changed, oil change every 5,000 miles instead of 9,000 as BMW says. Vehicle checked very well. Everything looks good

Yes, exhaust tone changes over time on brand new cars/exhausts.
Its normal, happened to me too. I have a full remus exhaust with catless downpipes. I like it more now, tbh

I'm not 100% sure what causes it, but I guess it is because of the pipes settling/breaking-in

Nah what the above guy said. Normal it will get "louder" as you break it in. If you change your midpipes, downpipes, exhaust? Same thing, process starts over, couple thousand miles or so (depending on usage, ambient temps, the way it's driven etc) for the break in so to speak.

Even if you change the intakes, there will be adjustment period with sensors, CPU's et all.

Just enjoy getting to the final sound!!

So what is the change? Is it louder, quieter, deeper?
