Looks like the N54 unit is designed to keep the stock secondary catalytic converters and slip on right after them. And the N55 doesn't have secondary catalytic converters so it bolts straight to the downpipe.

Very little pain. They should have no problem doing that. Or you can slip it on your stock exhaust but that requires cutting... I'd go by an exhaust shop and check if I were you. Remember that for the cleanest install you want them to also make those flanges that bolt to the downpipes

Yeah that's definitely what I would do too. It's such a small job that it's worth it to be able to save your stock exhaust
