Spark Plugs - Did you go aftermarket or OEM?

I am coming up on 30K miles and I am due for spark plugs. Anyone have experience with NGK or any other brands? Or should I stick with BMW Genuine?

Thanks!

I think NGK makes the stock part. Buy it from BMW if you like to pay more. If you have more than a stage 1 tune, consider a colder plug like the 97506. If not, the stock heat range is fine.

Is this not covered by the service agreement?

I did not purchase a service agreement, just CPO for warranty issues.

Appreciate the honesty! Aftermarket it is then. I am stock tune as well. Thanks!

Make sure you have a thin wall 14mm 12 point deep socket. Regular wall is too big.

+1 NGK

You can swap the plugs without having to drain and remove the radiator tank.

Why would you drain the radiator tank?

Per the instructions I read which they call for removing the reservoir.

Just had mine done at dealer at 19k miles.
Kept the originals too as such low miles. Tbh, they look high quality parts and no reason to change unless there's an ignition related issue or tuned.
The plugs that came out of my UK 2019 Comp are Bosch ZR5TPP3320

19k might be a little premature, but maybe you were at the 3rd oil change because you don’t drive much. The gaps on my plugs and opened 1-2000ths based on my measurements at 26k.

Yep, you are right. It was done as part of the third oil change.
It's only at 19k miles I don't drive it much since covid. When I bought it in 2019, I was doing a 175mile trip to site on a Monday and same back on a Thursday. It was a fantastic car for that. An awesome blend of comfort, luxury, safety, practicality with a sporty flavour
We have an electric car for local journeys.

Looks like it's covered by the standard Ultimate Care Maintenance Programs 36month/36K warranty at the 36 month oil change service.

What is the stock gap? I bought some off ebay using correct bmw part #, just want to make sure that they are gapped properly before I tear everything out.

I would recommend to use stock plugs/gap unless you start having spark trouble relating the plugs.

If I went with NGK on stock next time, would that be an issue? Do you have to gap them? If so, to what?

If you are stock i would stay with the stock plugs, no reason to change, car might even run alittle rougher if u switch being stock
