Ambient Lighting

Can someone speak on the ambient lighting and what it looks like in the F90? I have seen the e63s and wow. Does it even compare?

I have the F90 M5 and had the E63s and they are similar. The E63s might give you more color options.

The MB seems much brighter... especially in the daytime.

The E63 has 12/64 (preset + gradient slider) to choose from on a single zone. The F90/G30 has 6 colors but split zones (Main + Contour). These can be altered via coding if one really wants more.

Looks nice. Not a must have feature.

My understanding the colors you can get by coding is pretty much the rainbow.

I think the lighting is great, I like the lilac for that ‘trendy club’ vibe. No red though, which is little strange..

It can be coded any colors. Just will not come out as exactly as what it supposed to be due to capability limitation on the LED itself.

I have coded Hot Red (Most Popular), ///M Baby Blue, and any other custom colors.

Google is your best friend to find the exact red that suits you, even the value.

Yep.....I have coded mine hot pink, red, aqua, more of a sky blue, more of a neon green, etc.

Then I mixed them up...so aqua for the top LED line, hot pink for the middle, aqua again for the bottom/footwell, etc.

I feel the stock blue color is the actually the brightest overall of color.....but the aqua looks cool. Red is OK...but seems darker than any of the other colors overall. Adding a hint of white in there may fix that.

For XMas, I had a green and red combo.

related question here-anyone have any issues with the stock ambient lighting? On one door (rear, driver's side) the top light strip doesn't light the correct color, except blue. Anyone have an issue like this?

Not to geek out too much (as the company I work for manufacturers LEDs)...there are serval variations/intensities of every color dependent on the wavelength of light that the LED can produce. There is also Super and Ultra Red.

Hello MJr,

How long did it take you to make the code changes for those colors?

Thanks

Could be the camera adjusting for colour slightly. I turned down the saturation.
