Mishimoto Knockoff Intercoolers
Just wondering if anyone has seen these? I noticed them pop up on ebay. They're running the same exact specs as Mishimoto intercoolers, but are for $249 shipped. For the price it seems to be a good deal, but the welds look like sh1t IMO... It's probably why I could only find them in black, so they can cover it up? Anyways, I rolled the dice on one and it will be here tomorrow. I will post a couple pics when I got some time.
Plate design and size looks to be the same. I don't know if I can link to ebay, but the item # 331531377258. If you care to check out. Specifics: 20+ hp increase 35°F (1.67°C) reduction in AIT 22% increase in core size Includes CNC'd quick-disconnect fittings to mate with OEM pipes Easy install – under an hour Direct fit – no mods required Bar-and-plate construction 100% aluminum, TIG-welded with cast end tanks |

It does look exactly the same as the mishimoto IC. Hopefully you wont have any fitment problems like the last batch of mishimotos did. Or maybe these guys took the good ones lol. Interested to see how it goes.

I did some unboxing and took a couple pictures. As I figured, the welding was sh1t but overall okay. I've seen better. For the price, It could be a lot worse...
I should have time to install this weekend. I will take some better pics then. |

So did you install it?
Interested to see it as well. How was the overall fit and finish of this FMIC?

Curious if anyone has had good results with these Ebay intercoolers? I found this one recently and besides the sloppy welds, it seems to be identical to the Mishimoto.

The mishimoto intercooler was decent at best. It was small, used stock end tanks and a low density core. If this is a poor knock off the results may not be all that impressive, maybe slightly better then stock. You get what you pay for guys.

No disrespect to Mishimoto but their intercooler is not a top performing FMIC.
I would be surprised if the replica one did noticeably better than stock

Which specific intercooler do you have installed? Will you be looking to sell it when you upgrade?

This is the worst intercooler to make a knock off of. It's one of the smallest upgraded intercoolers available and it retains the restrictive/faulty OEM connectors.
