Can you confirm the diameter of the midpipe at the muffler clamp locaiton? is it designed to slip over the stock exhaust?

IF so, the MPE will fit by using a 6 inch long (stock diameter) pipe that fits INTO the Dinan Mid pipe and INTO the MPE. This may require the Dinan pipe to be shortened a few inches.

Its still 3.25" (82.5mm). Designed to slip over the stock/dinan exhaust inlet.

Sounds amazing, just ordered the elite tuner, may need to get this installed at the same time.

Do you guys have an air intake in the works too?

Pardon a newb question.

Neither of these would effect the factory BMW warranty, correct?

Well, I ordered the mid-pipe. Scott at Dinan gave me free shipping. ETA 21 April...

I plan to use it with the stock muffler and keep the OE mid-pipe, in case I ever want to switch back. Although that's doubtful.

I could easily do it myself if I had a lift, but I don't. And, I don't want to lay on my back in the driveway to do it, because I'm getting too old for that s!@$%.
My local BMW/Dinan dealer wants 300USD to install it! That's way more than it should be. But, I know if there's any issues, they'll make it right. So, I'll probably have them do it.

I just hope I get the sound I want: A little more volume, but not obnoxious, no drone, and more audible pops and gurgles. Fingers crossed...

$300 for a midpipe install? Damn... I'm in the wrong business...

Most reputable muffler shops will do it for 100ish

I got my place to quote me 75

Don't do it at the dealership.

Does the midpipe come with the hangers to the car ??

I just entered the Dinan page to place my order but i found out the midpipe alone have a ground shipping cost of 55USD to FL. I thought the shipping was free.

Any coupon or discount for forum members ??? Dinan_Engineering

Thanks.
Yes they stock exhaust will slip into the midpipe. There is one hangar location on the midpipe--- same as stock.

Shipping is free if the total for the order is over $500 (before tax). Feel free to contact your area sales guy at 1-800-341-5480 x2105 and see if he can waive on his end. You can also purchase directly through a dealer and wouldn't get charged shipping as an alternative.

We do not offer coupon codes. Keep telling the web guys to remove the option from the shopping cart but alas... Goes against our MAP policy and new distribution philosophy ultimately.
I tried calling in for $800 worth of orders today. Apparently Dinan doesn't honor or offer free shipping over $500 anymore to retail customers. They only offer free shipping with $2k worth of sales to dealers.

I tried referencing this thread and Dinan_Engineering posts but no dice.

Anyway, I called my dealer. They said that they get free shipping if I order $1k. The amount of discrepancy in informAtion is frustrating.

Few minutes later my dealer called me back and said they have another buyer wanted to get an exhaust system and they would piggy back my purchase on theirs to get me free shipping. Sold!

I'll get my parts in a week or so and I'll post pics etc once I'm installing with before and after sound.

Glad to hear that! I received mine a few days ago, but haven't installed yet. I agree that the quality is top notch, very nice piece. The diameter looks bigger than I expected it would.

I never liked the sound of the MPE with the stock midpipe.

Now i have Dinan midpipe with stock muffler and i think it's better than just MPE.

I can't tell you how the MPE+Dinan Midpipe setup would sound but i guess it would be amazing too. Too bad they're not compatible.
