This is a terribly complex question, and frankly not only manufacturer specific, but even individual ENGINE specific. What is best for one F-90 may not be best for all.
But, honestly, beating the BMW stock oil is awfully difficult. Anybody just use the dealer oil? Shawn |

I used to live and die by Mobil 1 0w-40 on my amg. Now i use LiquiMoly 5w-30 and 0w-30 on both X5 and M5 (in between dealer changes).

I change my oil every 7,500 KM, So in between the dealer recommend intervals @ 15k.
And from my experience with this car and my previous BMW, both idle and run much smoother on redline. Now that I am done with their service interval stuff I will only use this oil. |

Any oil that meets the bmw spec for the engine is fine or an oil tgat is not rated like redline if you have verified it is a near match for the spec. More oils may work if you keep the change interval short. There is much more to oil spec than there used to be. Bobistheoilguy has a tremendous amount of information if you want to learn.
