Loud clicking noise when turning at low speeds.

Ever since I switched to a wider setup 285/35/20 295/35/20 my car has been making this loud click noise when turning or pulling out a parking spot. Sometimes it's quite other times it sounds like a loud snap. The sound is pretty worrying so if anyone has any idea what it could be please let me know. Also I'm lowered on H&Rm550i springs. Thanks in advance for the help guys.

I have started to hear similar ticking noise while turning at slow speeds. No idea what is it.

If I recall correctly, there was a thread about people experiencing clicking on turning a while back. Click was related to slight movement related to not torquing down a subframe plate or brace after having service done. Could it possibly be that when you had suspension mod done they did not tighten something back down to spec? I have no probs running my 285 / 295 R35 set up on 10” front and 11” rears (Titan 7). Then again I did not change our springs or lower so not one had to loosen up any components underneath.

This is very helpful I will definitely have the person who installed the springs double check everything is in torqued correctly thank you.

I run 285-35-20 fr 305-35-20 rr but suspension mods. Probably will have dealer check it out at next service.

Go to the F90 General section and the sticky thread header area that usually is hidden - at least on my phone it is. Download the F90 technical manual and check out section 3.1.1. The stiffening plate is item #4 as illustrated on the screen shot below underneath improving rigidity of front subframe. Some people have had a sound similar to what you are describing after having mods / service / etc done and it is possible the plate got loosened and then improperly torqued back up if was removed to get, say, better inner access to suspension components / etc. Not saying it is your issue but you know what they say - Either horses or zebras. Good luck

I tightened all the screws that were on the plate and it did stop the noise once you get under the cae it's pretty easy to identify them.

I couldn't agree more I asked mechanics, bmw service and friends no one knew. I'm just still in shock a couple of bolts on the stiffening plate could affect the car that much and make such a crazy noise! The more you know lol.
