Any ideas? It’s for a 2018 M5. Has dps and stage 2 w eventuri intake but I believe this issue has been ongoing since stock. |

Charge air temp high? I would look at the charge cooler reservoir to see if it is low/ empty. If it is and the tank is not leaking, and there are no visible coolant leaks, it could be the charge cooler(s) leaking internally. This happened on my F82.

I had the same issue with my X5M. Dealer had to change the waterpump and mofos didn't top off the coolant. The smaller secondary tank was empty when i checked.
Make sure you bleed the system several times to make sure its truly topped off.

I don't know if this works on the F90 platform but this is the procedure for the F80/82. The pump did not start running until 5-10 minutes after depressing the gas pedal.
You need stable voltage supply, key on, driver seat belt connected "so that the car does not go to sleep", select sport or sport plus "can not be in comfort", turn on heater to max temp with lowest speed, depress gas pedal for 10 seconds and it will begin to run. I believe the complete procedure runs for 12minutes. There will be times where you will not hear a pump operate of fluid drop in the reservoir. Be patient, its a complex system. Towards the end of the initial bleed the fluid will drop. You have to cycle off the ignition and wait about 5 min before attempting the bleed procedure again. |
