Happy Thanksgiving! I hope everyone enjoys a day of arguing with family members instead of people on a BMW forum!

Just Wifey and Yours Truly this year. Looking forward to peace and quiet and good food. Plus it's supposed to be in the 50F+ range tomorrow, so a good long ride is in order. I took the whole week off and it's been productive and enjoyable. I wish the same for everyone else. Be safe, enjoy family, DON'T argue politics. Just enjoy the moment.

Happy Thanksgiving my US friends.

If anybody's looking for A mediocre, run-of-the-mill kids film destined to be rapidly forgotten by everyone, not only for being mostly unfunny and full of clichés but also because it holds few to no surprises, making sure that every joke is explained and leaving almost nothing to our imagination; I thoroughly recommend you pirate or stream a copy of Owen Wilson's 2013 master-peace "Free Birds"!

https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/free_birds_2013/

I don't know how I ended up with it in my possession, but thanks to my six year old son, I've seen it about 18 times, and it's the first thing I think of anytime anyone mentions Thanksgiving.

You had me at breast. Have fun at the game as it should be a high scoring affair.

As for the 27 pounder, we have about 18 ppl eating in total so I had to get something as heavy as an e39 M5 as well as turkey, ham, lasagna, chicken cutlet Parm, candy yams, mashed potatoes and lots of other stuff I’m too lazy to type.

Tons of red/white wine and plenty of coke for rum

Whether this is a holiday in your country/location or not, I hope you, like I, have something or many things you can be thankful for today.

If serving only turkey, I think general rule is 1 lb. per person, more for leftovers. We are going to in-laws and I think it is 12 lb. for 7 people.

That is some serious food. Enjoy the day and the naps after eating.

Yup. The recommendation is 1.5lbs per serving for smaller birds, 1.0lbs per serving for larger birds (12Lbs plus). However since it seems more like white meat, I go bigger than the recommended. Leftovers are much easier to deal with than being short at the first serving! So this year 14 lbs to serve 7.

Obviously if you have another entree (ham, duck, goose) in addition to the turkey, you should be able to stay toward the lower weight per person.

You must have a vowel at the end of your name too! Reminds me of that meme what Thansgiving looks like when you marry Maria and what Thanksgiving looks like when you marry Megan. My sister is cooking, I’m responsible for the stuffed artichokes.
