Keep an eye on your M5CS build...

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
I originally spec'd my M5CS with the yellow calipers and then changed them to red. I got confirmation that the change to red was loaded and the preview pic of the car on the BMWNA website showed the calipers in red.

I just logged in today to grab my VIN number on my M3 and noticed that the calipers on the M5CS had changed back to yellow. Not sure how that happened and even my SA was stumped.

Regardless, he changed it back to red again and hopefully it stays that way. Just posting this as a heads up for others to double check their build and make sure it is correct before production starts.

Thanks for the advice. Do you know about lease numbers yet? Can the car even be leased? Or finance only?

Still no info available on that yet, but I'm guessing that BMW won't make the same mistake again and that the M5CS will have a lease program.

My dealer mentioned that there isn't likely a program for the CS, but BMWFS probably knows best.

Yeah, hard to think that a dealer will know before BMWFS puts anything out. My sales guy just sends me screen shots. This is what he sent me. He then said that he expects things to change once the cars go into production and/or get on the water to come stateside.

Hmmm. I didn't spec our M5 CSs, but I do recall that changing them isn't simply going into the system and updating the order. It required filling out a form and submitting that up the chain and then the adjustments would be made.

Mine shows white. They are not coloring the custom colors for some reason. And yeah white color works well with the bronze wheels though frozen black would have been epic …

Yeah had this happen to me too. Originally specced P Zero Corsas, then switched them off and the build magically switched back to corsas.

How are you guys seeing the CS configurator?
Or is this the car tracker after the order is placed?

Mine shows the color that I spec'd, including the caliper colors.

You can see it once you get a production number and lid it into the Garage section of the BMWFS website.

Red is the only way IMO, gold on gold doesn't look right.

Had mine a few weeks now and loving it.

I think the car shows white when its config has a custom color (in this case, frozen BH/DG). For the (only) non-custom color, it shows the actual color on the picture.

Spoke to my dealer today regarding another car for a relative and he mentioned CS production should start a little sooner than expected... has anyone else heard this?

Nope, but honestly, I don't believe anything a dealer says when it comes to comments like that. If anything, I am expecting a delay due to the global shortages.
