Personally, I like that the M5 is understated on exterior design.
If you need it to stand out more, you can get it in Frozen Deep Green. Personally, i'll have mine in Brands Hatch Metallic.

My biggest problem with the looks is the decision to use gold on the grills, rather than other areas. Limits the color choice pretty significantly, and then they only did a single non-frozen color. Would have liked more color choices on the CS, cause its clearly a superior car to the M5C.
I 100% agree with you on the color. I don't like frozen colors at all so I also went with BHG metallic.

I would have really liked that green in a metallic paint too. My dealer went up the flagpole multiple times for individual paint and was denied each time.

BMW should have added a Matte Black or Metallic Black to M5 CS lineup. The bronze wheels and accents would have looked killer on those cars.

Even Alpine White or a lighter silver (like a Brooklyn Grey, for example) would have looked great on these cars. I think the color choices are a marketing decision, and BMW marketing has lost its way sadly.

Hey i can always respray my M5 CS a different color in the future.

I'd wrap it before doing a re-spray.

Minimally faster and handles minimally better, but doesn't have massaging seats!

To me, the M5 CS is a conundrum wrapped in an oxymoron. It doesn't have what makes an M5 special, but oh well.

If I wanted a fast track car, I would've bought a GT3.

I'm curious to see a direct comparison between an M5C with Pirelli Corsa/ Cup 2 tires and a CS, especially on the track.

CH is absolutely right, the CS is a celebration model but for me it misses the point of an M5, to be kinda under the radar and luxurious yet brutally fast road car. I personally could not live with those seats as a DD, the current seats are one of the stand out features in my book! Went in an AMG E63s with optional sport seats...way too hard for me! But I'm sure others will love it which is also great as it does give the M5 range a lift too

What makes an M5 special, I don't follow the logic? Early reviews are saying the CS rides more compliant than an M5C and the carbon buckets are now on all M products because some people say they are comfortable (I haven't sat in them yet but can't say). I will say the M2 CS sport seats are more comfortable for me than the M5 seats and X4MC seats are.

It's also more outrageously fast, seems to be better handling, and still understated.

These CS models are not track cars, they dial up the ride quality and comfort even more. My M2 CS is much more comfortable than my OG M2 was, for example. Until you actually drive one, don't assume it's a track car just cause it's very good on track or BMW is marketing it that way.

Chris was saying ride was an issue, but he was also comparing it to the E-Tron GT. Ollie Marriage's and Ben Barry's reviews were saying it dialed up the comfort.

Tried the same for one of our allocations, no go.

What makes an M5 special is luxury and comfort with impressive performance. All the "Gucci" items that have made its way over the years combined with "sleeper" looks are what do it for me. The CS has done away with some of that (i.e. massaging seats, B&W sound system, hotwheels-themed bronze accents/wheels, etc.). I absolutely love the carbon fiber hood though.

I'm also a fan of neither the limited-to-three color choices (but that's not really that big a deal), the rear spoiler which looks like an afterthought, nor the firetruck-red-trimmed seats with a gimmicky Nurburgring diagram embossed in the headrest.

I've sat in the carbon bucket seats in both the new M3 and M4 and they are horrendous. I am honestly more comfortable in the cockpit of an F-35 than I am in those bucket seats. The M2 CS seats are very different than any of these new carbon bucket seats.

definitely not a go-kart around the track, more like trying to move a semi around a corner... big m cars like this one just don't make sense anymore.

You are severely misguided just based off that statement.
Just because Chris Harris is throwing it around the corners in RWD mode does not make it a "track" car. The m5 will never be that. It's highway monster, nothing more, nothing less. This seems to get lost on this forum...

M3 and M4 CS would beg to differ. M2 CS seems to be holding for now.

My theory is those that can afford $160K car will always want the latest and greatest. Sure there are some die hard fans that will hold them, but we will see. Might be the last great M5.

It's going to depreciate, but when you look at it, it's a all-time great interior, a great engine, cool exterior.

It's a very desirable package for this year across any type of car.

We are going to miss the v8 super saloons as much as v8 super cars, because they make a great noise while also being almost as fast as electric cars. No matter how much electric cars advance, an M5 CS will never feel slow.

I'm buying this car, not cause I think it will be a collectible, but because it represents the best version ever of a great car (the super saloon).

it is stunning when he walks along the side to the front

you ever mar that paint and youre screwed. matchin' impossible

that is the color to get. wow holy shit i was wrong about frozens

that paint job throws a pewter sheen to matchthe grill wheels etc

thats the color to get

those rear buckets look like an amusement park ride
