Pulled the trigger on this back in early July. The wait's painful enough. Don't need bells and whistles dropping off now.
Does anyone know if our cars will include the display key? I also heard something about wireless phone charging being in jeopardy. Either of those aren't a deal breaker but would be nice to have. I should ask my salesman but I doubt he knows. Maybe I'll call the genius to find out.

And thank you!
Took delivery of my '22 M5CS. No display key, but that's fine with me as I never liked that thing due to its size and inability to attach it to a key ring.

I lucked out and got wireless charging, but I'm pretty sure all regular and competition M5s don't get it this year.
I did get the wireless charging and B&W sound on my '21 M5C delivered in August. I think my car literally just missed this s*%# show everyone is having!

I got another update from my CA (who has been great btw).

From what he's seeing on two other ordered cars, B&W was removed from the build by BMW themselves and the cars will push ahead w a slightly delayed build date.

I got another note from him towards the end of the day stating that it is possible to add B&W back to the build - but the build would be delayed until.

Wait for it.

Spring 2022.

And he cautioned in waiting that "other" features may become unavailable.

I wonder if this is affecting the Burmester option on MBs and Porsches.

Man this is pretty disappointing. Have a ‘22 scheduled for production now and definitely want BW… emailed my CA but haven’t heard back yet.

On the BMW website tracker, B&W was part of my build, but it's not listed anymore. Conf. Prod:2021/09/36

That's pretty remarkable they would retroactively go in and remove it from committed builds without any notification. Very disrespectful towards customers that at this level are BMW enthusiasts and their biggest supporters. This new model year is a total cock-up, from wireless charging (minor), to all the carbon accessories and MP exhaust being in total limbo, and now this. What's next?

Heard back from CA - she confirmed the order is still showing B&W on her end and that she hasn’t heard of any issues. My tracker online is still showing it as well but I’m only in the “scheduled for production” stage. Seems to be conflicting info out there but crossing my fingers. Week 39 build fwiw.

I noticed the wireless charging tray is missing from my vehicle specs as well. First the B&W got removed and now this. Overall the wireless charging is not a huge deal to me but there was no notification that it would be excluded, I just happened to ask my sales advisor if it was there after seeing people mention it here and he couldn't find it. It's still waiting to be built, I hope nothing else gets removed. This chip shortage is really throwing a wrench into things, huh.

My order has just moved back from late Sept / early Oct in the UK to Feb 2022. No further details at this stage. Told the dealer if that is the case to just cancel it and will stick as I am

Was just told my M5C with individual paint bumped from week 37 to week 40 (first week in Oct.). B&W still in my build but in status 102 (was 112 a couple weeks back and 105 last week).

Pushes much longer I might need to find a nice SUV alternative to get me through the Chicago winter.

Well this sucks, I have a M5C that has a build week of 40 and an X5 M50I with the same build date both with B&W. Neither show B&W dropped but worried what will happen to build weeks. Just sent a note to my rep, will see what he says.

I posted the note below last evening in the "Scheduled for Production BACK to Order Received?" thread. When did you submit your orders?

I got a call from my CA earlier this evening. The Sales Manager and my CA were finally able to get their BMW NA regional sales rep on the phone. They still have no idea why my car went from week 35 to 37, and then all the way to week 44. However they did have her run my production number by the parts purchasing manager and confirmed my car will still get the B&W as ordered. Apparently any orders that were accepted prior to week 35 that had the B&W optioned will get it. My CA said that BMW’s systems that manage vehicle production talk real-time to their suppliers systems. So when new vehicle orders are accepted by BMW the parts to build the cars are automatically ordered.

Given this, here’s my revised best guess of what’s going on with all of our production slots moving around. It sounds like BMW heard from the B&W supplier around week 35 they were having supply issues for new systems being ordered. So BMW pulls the B&W system as an option. But prior orders that already had the B&W system parts allocated to them had to be rescheduled for when the parts are expected to arrive at the factory.

I had production numbers issued on August 25th, I submitted the orders on August 14th. I am waiting to hear back from my rep if mine were rescheduled. Online they just show as order received still.

Ask your CA to confirm when BMW NA accepted the orders. Week 35 is the week of August 23rd, so if your orders were accepted within a week of being placed then if what my CA told me last night is accurate both your builds should be good to go with the B&W.

He just got back and said both are good to go but the X5 now moved back to week 45 (from week 40) and M5 still showing week 40. Really need my wifes X5 to show up before my M5 still so hopefully that one does not move back too much further.

AGS, from what you said before the BMW system works with their suppliers which would mean that they should have supply of the components correct? My concern is the X5 being pushed back 5 weeks, no movement on the M5 but wondering how accurate those dates are even going to be. Is anyone with a build week of 38 showing Vins at this point or did they all get moved back this week?

I've lost track but I believe my original Production Week was 33.

I’m not believing mine being really 40 then. On website it says the same thing, order accepted but my rep shows 40. So safe to assume mine will be pushed back several weeks minimum then too. I’m watching both of you then to see when you get actual production. I’m sure I’ll be pushed back a similar amount of time.
