Oh man, my car is/was scheduled for week 37, I hope they got enough B/W for me. If not, I’m gonna have to make a difficult decision.

It went away Labor Day weekend. I did a build on my 22 M5 last week and it was there. Went in on Labor Day to place the order and it was gone. The dealer tried to enter my order as built and said B&W was gone from their system. I was given no alternatives, just have to make do with the Harmon Kardon system. Disappointing.

I have an Individual M5C about to enter production (I hope .. week 38) and it is spec'd with B&W.

Curious to see if this affects cars already in the production queue or only those not yet ordered.

We're about to find out.

Same here! Called this morning and it looks like my build was delayed a week to week 38. I have B&W too. Fingers crossed. No B&W is a deal breaker for sure. It's one of the reasons I decided on M5 instead of M3.

Just confirmed my M5C is still scheduled for a week 37 build. Ordered with B&W. Will let you know if anything changes.

Pulled the trigger on this back in early July. The wait's painful enough. Don't need bells and whistles dropping off now.

Does anyone know if our cars will include the display key? I also heard something about wireless phone charging being in jeopardy. Either of those aren't a deal breaker but would be nice to have. I should ask my salesman but I doubt he knows. Maybe I'll call the genius to find out.

Pretty sure the display key wasn't an option before the chip shortage, at least in the US. The app on your mobile has that functionality. I used it with my 750 and it was fine.

But can confirm the wireless charger got nixed.

I've not heard anything regarding the Display Key but don't believe so,

Wireless charging is gone from what I know .. I have a 19' M5C and can confirm you're not missing much … I charge my phone using the USB port in the Wireless Charging tray and a cord.

Took delivery of my '22 M5CS. No display key, but that's fine with me as I never liked that thing due to its size and inability to attach it to a key ring.

I lucked out and got wireless charging, but I'm pretty sure all regular and competition M5s don't get it this year.

Yeah the display key isn't a big deal, I think I wanted it more because my 11 yo son would think it's cool. I didn't think I'd actually carry it around and use it.

My phone doesn't fit in the charging pad without removing the case anyway, so no loss there.

I have a 2022 M5 Competition and the wireless tray is there. Now mine was one of the first 2022's to be built.

From what I can see in the system is that if your order was in/accepted before it disappeared, you'll still have B&W. Otherwise, if you place an order now, you won't get it.

Unfortunately, this looks like it is going to impact ordered vehicles as well. This is pretty disappointing.

It looks like you are correct about the B&W sound system. The vehicle has been pushed back again to no production week. We have 2 other production vehicles with the B&W sound system that were also pushed back with no production week available. We received confirmation from BMW NA that that the shortage of the B&W sound system is the reason for the delay. The production will be pushed forward if we remove the B&W sound system. Please let me know what you wish to do. I apologize for this further delay.

It's funny, I called the genius line yesterday to see if I was still on track for production soon (38) because the automated system was saying delayed with no production date available. The "genius" that I spoke to told me that I was indeed ready for week 38 but he said "the date is subject to change" like 5 times lol. I was like dude, it's not a binding legal agreement here, you can tell me the truth but that's all he would say.

I ordered this M5 because I've had an order placed for the new CT5-V Blackwing since March and I felt like my local Caddy dealer was givng me the runaround. I still don't have an allocation because their carbon fiber packages are currently on constraint with no idea if/when my order is going to get accepted. Good thing I'm in no hurry.

It's looking more and more like next year no matter what I wind up buying. Oh well, things are tough all over I guess.

We’ll see what happens when the dealer contacts me to inform me, if ever. I expect to hear something as it’s being driven off the trailer.

I’d be willing to overlook this on a CS but a Comp? That’s gonna be a tough sell. Yes, I know the B&W isn’t available on the CS. Just sayin
