Scheduled for production BACK to order received?

Has anyone seen their status move backwards? I'd been sitting on scheduled for production for about 10 days now (and of course checking every day). Checked this morning and I moved from scheduled for production BACK to order received. I've reached out to my dealer to see what's up but wondered if anyone here experienced that?

Mine went into "production begins" on Thursday. I'll keep an eye on it and let you know if it goes backward. When did you lock your order? I locked mine on 7/5

I had that occur to me. Order in late April. Then was scheduled for production in May but reverted to order received in June. It was due to the chip shortage specific to audio. Fortunately it ramped back up late June and is on a boat making its way to the San Diego port.

I heard from my CA this morning that I'm on the schedule for week 36 build and delivery in mid October. Maybe it's at some interim status that the tracking page can't handle.

When did you place the order? My car went into production on 13th & now sitting at port. Great color. I ordered the same!

I am pretty sure it was pushed back because the factory closes in August for a month.

Glad ours got in before the shutdown. Dealer kind of screwed up on my wheel choice and was going to offer the next allocation, but it wasn't going to get here until October/November. So I'll deal with the wheels that come on it.

I don't think it's the entire month of August. My recollection is it's 2-3 weeks, and I thought it was something like the last week of July and the first week or two of August. Also, I have a week 35 build for my 2022 M5C order which is the week of August 23rd.

Just had this happen to me with my G20. It was "Scheduled for Production" for like a day, then back to Order Received. I guess it's a thing that happens.

Quick update on this. About a week after it went to order submitted it went back to scheduled. My CA had advised that we were week 36. Then this morning - back to order submitted. I sent him an email and he said he's seeing the schedule for all the M products being pushed back due to supply issues. I asked directly if we're still on for week 36 but haven't heard back yet. Anyone else seeing delays around week 36/37?

Here's the quote from my CA today. Good morning. I hope you had a great weekend. I noticed that all M production has been pushed back several weeks. BMW has been dealing with parts shortages from their supply chain that have been affecting production.

Not all the M cars are effected. So that statement itself is incorrect. Also, he can just login to his internal BMW portal to see when status on the car (which may or may not be accurate)

My dads CS is week 43 according to genius, and last week i got a text saying 36 via my dealer.... so who tf knows.

Yes, exact situation here. And your build looks similar to mine (as much as I can tell from the image). You had better luck than me getting information. I asked my dealer 4 or 5 times over a month if they knew why it moved backwards and always got "we'll get right back to you") …then crickets. Many emails went completely unanswered.

find a new dealer. you are paying them, your car isn't free.

Exactly what I told them and got an answer (with excuses) in 5 minutes. There are probably a dozen dealers within a 2 hour drive.

Yikes, my M5C is scheduled for week 37 and recently changed status to scheduled. We'll see what happens. At least I have a car to drive until mine arrives (I sold my daily in June and have been driving my beater).

Good luck everyone.

I got another update from my CA (who I don't personally have a relationship with outside of being connected to him by Dan Next Level Auto Brokers ) and unfortunately my week 36 build is now a week 40 build. The CA himself is awesome and always responds to my emails within a couple of hours. Obviously not the news I'd hoped. I sold my 2020 992S back in May and have been driving my wife's Tesla model Y since. I also went to full time work from home during all of this, so it's not like I even need a car (other than taking my kid to school - I almost don't drive at all). Not having a high dollar car this summer has been great - more time to play with other toys! But I am looking forward to taking delivery, hopefully now sometime in mid November.

I'm told we really should be upset with Toyota as they stockpiled microprocessors prior to COVID and thats what has this "chip shortage" out of whack.
