Thanks, just trying to find out the rhyme or reason to it. I had it for some reason. The switch is being delivered today and Vic pre-coded for it. I'll probably never use it, but knowing the wire was sitting there in pin 1 doing nothing got me going.

I think US cars having the wire is more the exception than the rule.

Glad it all worked out for you. They are very nice lights.

My experience thus far is that the 2018 and 2019 USA models have the 5 wires.

My USA 2019 only has 4 wires - that is why I ordered everything to make the plug-and-play adapters.

Copy, maybe it's just 2018 and then some of the 2019s depending on build date. I haven't seen any 2020+ with 5 wires.

When was your build date?

I know someone with a 2017 540 that had 5 wires, I bet it is tied to build date. My build date is December 2017.

Apologies, I neglected to include prior MYs as I was only tracking M5s that started for the 2018 MY.

No worries! I picked up on that. This is an M5 group after all. Us G30 folks are crashing.

Yep, it works great. Vick coded my car last night and I have 100% functionality.

For those of you not comfortable with tinkering on vehicles or don't have much experience, just ensure you're using the right t-taps for the right gauge wire.
What gauge t taps you use?

Installation calls for 22 AWG wire, so the typically red-colored t-taps will work great. The stock wiring is 22 AWG so your jump wire should be the same.

I'm in the process of doing this, Im stuck on the wiring rearranging them. Following the instruction on Euro spec do you start rearranging the wiring from left to right or right to left.

I didnt also find any MQS socket around my area so what i did is cut from left over apple carplay wires and soldered them to a speaker wire from both ends, my question is soldering good and safe for this situation?

Having a join is fine. I had to join one of my wires to another cable as it wasnt long enough.

As for the connectors. You will see a start and end number on the connector(s) itself when you disconnect it.

If you look at the "before" wiring and colors posted in this thread a few times by Euro and me, you will be able to figure out which is pin 1 and from there you go down the line.

Here it is.

I'm on Euro spec, I have two YELLOW/BLACK wires on the left tail light I cannot differentiate between them they look identical.

Here is mine connected.

So this is the inner tails without any repinning? This is how it looks out of the box?

Here is my left inner after repinning for Euro spec. Pin 4 is generic wire added from the BDC. All others are BMW spec and placement for Euro tails. (And pretty much US too without the fog in pin 1 and pin 4 from the BDC.

It's hard to tell the colors, but it looks a lot like mine.

I am not a complainer and I normally would never bring this up in a public forum but I placed my order for these lights from Abdul on October 27th and expected them to take a few weeks. I was happy to receive a shipment order confirmation on November 8th saying that the lights would be delivered by November 10th. It is now November 23rd and the tracking number that I was given has not even been picked up yet. I have contacted Abdul multiple times (through info@mpowermotorsports.org) and have not received any response. This is terrible customer service and if I do not hear back shortly I will contact my credit card company about a charge-back - something I have never done before for any transaction - and take my business somewhere else.

Abdul has now quickly resolved the issue, has been very responsive, and I should have the lights on Friday so I am looking forward to the upgrade.

If you're on the fence about these lights, grab them now. We have them in stock. Our Black Friday sales have started and we have temporarily lowered the prices. Grab a set while it lasts. Our set comes with 4 lights and all 4 trims.
