Reset Oil Change interval

I have found a little on this on line, one video via an M550.

Does the F90 follow the same steps? Push start button three times fast, then use the reset button on the left of the dash to cycle through the options, etc??? I am planning an a DIY oil change this week.

I did find a good video on the oil change which was shot for a 2015 XM5. That video showed the drain plug and filter very nicely and the guy shooting it did a great job (read that as did not make a friggen mess like the V10 M5 video I saw LMAO).

And....why? I had car in for service on April 1st for an oil change...as the car had about 12k miles on it. Then I was back on May 13 for some other item and guess what....they changed the oil again. The service guy said the "Car" said it was due, net the service lights were all Green and nothing was due as per the IDRIVE display. When he looked at the PAPER records his face said it all, "we are eating that $150."

Anyway, now I have 15k miles on the clock and my change oil light is on (it is stating 'oil service in 1000 miles or 4/2020'). I have approached that 1000 miles. So does the oil need to be changed? Did they RESET the friggen timer? What record did they use to tell that the car need another oil change 6 weeks after the April 1st oil change? And you wonder why I DIY? I suspect it is not really due but plan on doing it anyway and resetting the control module......I have the oil and filter ready to go...

I say change it and make sure you reset it; then make note of the new date/time/mileage. Since you already have all of accessories to perform it, you really have nothing to lose...

resurrecting an old thread. can anyone comment on the correct procedure for resetting the oil interval on a 2018 F90?

I've tried the press start button 3 times and then hold down the tripometer reset but that does nothing. Had the car in for its last service but they did no reset the oil counter. Hoping to just do this myself as i will be doing oil changes myself here on out.

Dealer showed me: press start button three times. wait for the mileage indicator area on instrument cluster to go dark then press and hold the mileage reset button until the menu pops up. This is on 2018/2019 not sure if it is different on the new live cockpit display
