How's everyone doing?

Just wanted to follow up this thread to check if everyone's getting fixes.

It's been 2 weeks since my M5 was fixed and I haven't heard the noise again since then.

Thanks F90-M5 and RS2G for your work order. Took my car to nearest dealer which is 1 1/2 hour away and sure enough it would not make the "annoying" sound. It seem when car is nice and warm, its less likely to make noise. They inspected my car for trouble area base on 2 work orders and noticed possible defect. Submitted to BMW and approved for repair. Parts ordered from Germany. Thanks again guys...

No noise since I got mine back. Issue being the dust shields.

Mine didn’t do it for a few weeks, but started again this morning. Hopefully it goes away by itself again as I really dont want to lose it to the garage for a few days.

well its BACK!!!!!!

dealer replaced fuel pump thinking that was the fix.

the car started making that dreadful noise again this morning.

i noticed it only happens when the car has been sitting a long period, happens at low speeds and when turning.

its so annoying that such a high dollar car has such a stupid problem they cannot diagnose....

i mentioned about the shields in the rear they said it was fine.....

Can you share the cause and what was done to fix the issue?

Hi All,
It seems my UK M5 Comp is making the same weird noise, can anyone re-post the first view videos from this post to see if its the same as mine?
The video posted from rs2g seems to be the same as my noise, did your dealer fix the issue with your dust shields?
Thanks
Matt

My car has a clicking sound when turned to left locked position while the front suspension is compressed. Could not figure out what's wrong or what caused it. Took it to the shop I use for oil change between BMW dealership services, they could not figure out what's causing it the first time. The second time, they decided to re tighten all the nuts and bolts that could have been possibly adjusted during the break in service. Then it just went away. I hope it helps, it was really annoying while it lasted.

What build date is your car? My rear passenger door had the same issue, and they "fixed it" but I've taken it back twice and now they are replacing the door panel.

The overheard console was also "fixed" but issue remains and they replacing.

Could be the Lilliputian cops in hot pursuit...wow. Or a toddler with a wind up toy in the back seat??? A circus monkey trapped in the dash during the manufacturing process?

Yikes!

Thank you for the useful informations provided above.

My car started doing the same crying noise as in the video (much appreciated, was very useful for the technician along with the work sheets of the ordered parts and diagnosed issues..) , in cold weather so I took it to our dealership 2 days ago.

Today service called me they fixed the car , however it looks like they have to change the whole rear differential as car indicates it needs changing. So they sought for advice from BMW UK and waiting for the reply. Car has only 8000 miles ...

Mind you I have never had any signs on the dash with regards the rear diff. Will see. If they can't sort out my car by tomorrow, I will get a courtesy car until that I use their chauffeur service..

Local service has just called me that BMW UK confirmed that my car needs new rear differential ... Missed manufactured part which they found while fixing noise issues. At least 2 weeks ! till the new part arrives !

BMW UK is calling apparently later to discuss replacement car , have not had a call yet..

Thank you everyone for your feedback. I have also experienced this noise 2-3 times in the past coupe of weeks. I am in SW Florida so we really don't get cold temperatures, but it has happened a few times.

I'm going to call the dealer today to setup an appointment and see what they find.
